Hopefully we can follow this kid like we did the African American youngster (at least that's how I remember him) in Germany a few years ago. What was his name?

    Wasn't his name Dontavius Fleming?

I haven't figured yet how to start threads and this may not warrant it anyway ... but one of those UK based sites is reporting/speculating that Dick Advocaat, now in charge of a <near> bottom-dwelling Borussia M-gladbach, is looking for reinforcements and he is primarily seeking Dutch players from Ajax and Feyenoord. The previously mentioned Thomas Buffel was brought up again. I wonder what this means for the Yanks like Clint Dempsey, who was thought to be Buffel's replacement.

Buffel is a forward primarily, but he stepped in for Shinji Ono at attacking central midfielder for a few games. Dempsey is not going to Feyenoord, if ever, till next summer.

Loud out laughing fun as this may be, I really think it shows that Dave needs to find something else to do than randomly googling the internet.

But, since I don't have that much of a life either, let's play along: Ragnar Ferrand-Drake (borned 93) is a defender with Vikens IK P11 team. They played in the "P11 Hbg A"-league this summer and finished 8 out of 10 teams (6-10-2). And since the team calls him "homecoming swedish-american" in their presentation of him, Dave seems to be spot on: Ragnar is a yank playing soccer abroad.

    This is almost certainly true.

So, in my opinion, is Dempsey.

An update to this thread was clearly warranted.

I'm not sure the whereabouts of Vikens' 93 defender Ragnar, but there appear to be a couple other Ferrand-Drakes out there in Sweden. I don't know how common the name is, but it seems that Fredrik (91) and Gustav (90) both played for Brunnby FF in Sweden in 2007:

So maybe we lost one Ferrand-Drake and gained two... Who knows? Will see what else I can find out, if anything.

For some reason the team's web site doesn't have a roster for the 93 boys' team, though it does for other youth squads.
