According to Brian Quarstad ''the new Cosmos (strong ownership) could strenghten the NASL and leave Minnesota (with their league owned team) without por soccer''
we're back baby! we're dancing in the streets here in NYC!!!! So glad Cosmos joined NASL. It was the right choice. With NASL the Cosmos are a club where they control their business plan and their brand. any chance the Cosmos getting a TV deal like Notre Dame? Maybe CBS can broadcast all our games! Okay i'm getting a little carried away!!!
Really? I missed the ticker tape parade in Times Square. On the plus side maybe Bob Costas will call your games after he is done with the Olympics.
I decided to write an article on the return. Any reads would be great http://foursixzero.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-ny-cosmos-are-back-but-want-to-do.html

NEW YORK, NY– The New York Cosmos announced today that ONE World Sports (OWS), their television broadcast and national network partner has entered into a distribution agreement with SNY – the official TV home of the New York Mets and Jets. SNY – which reaches more than 13 million homes – will air all seven New York Cosmos home games for the 2013 North American Soccer League (NASL) Fall season. On Saturday, August 3rd at 7:00pm, the Cosmos will kick off their season opener on SNY against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium. The Cosmos on-air team will feature play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera and Janusz Michallik as the color analyst. SNY will also showcase five episodes of “Cosmos Classics,” the newly-minted series that looks back at some of the most memorable games in club history. “Cosmos Classics” will make its debut August 11th at 9:00pm on SNY and feature the July 16, 1976 match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The second installment of “Cosmos Classics” will air on Thursday, August 18th and feature the Barcelona-Cosmos match from May 28, 1984. The other “Cosmos Classics” will be announced at a later date. “This is another important step in the reboot of our club,” Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover said. “ONE World Sports has proven to be a great partner thus far and we know their production will be of the highest level. Now, adding SNY to our broadcast family helps us attain one of our main goals, which is reaching more of our fans in the tri-state area.” “The Cosmos have a rich and colorful history among New York area sports fans,” said Gary Morgenstern, Senior Vice President of Programming for SNY. “We are excited to be partnering with the club during the rebirth of the franchise, and look forward to providing both new and long-time fans with a comprehensive package of games from the current season, as well as classic games from the 1970’s and 80’s.” ONE World Sports will produce all of the games and the Cosmos Classics original series under the terms of the agreement. The club remains in discussion with various potential broadcast partners, including OWS, for distribution of its road games.
