This is all so complicated. It was simpler in the old days when you could just say Jews.

 

"Maine is a rural area where people participate in outdoor sports." What a maroon! Maine is actually 2 different states.

The (mostly) blue part is the coastal area where most of the wealth is (the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport). A lot of the tourism is focused here, with beaches, lots of good restaurants and culture in mid-size cities like Portland and LBGTQ-friendly towns like Ogunquit. Not to mention Old Orcard Beach, the Quebecois Riviera, where you'll hear more French spoken than English.

Then there is the more red inland areas, which is not much different from anywhere else in rural Murca. Not as well-to-do as the coast, not much diversity, where people like to hunt, fish and ride snowmobiles. There are even Amish/Mennonite communities in northern Maine. Lewiston is one of the bigger communities in the area, with a university and lots of French-speaking roots. in pre-Covid times they had a team in the Quebec junior hockey league.

Anyway, Nikki Haley's "plan" for any kind of gun violence is thoughts and prayers, plus fewer restrictions for anyone who wants to enjoy their second amendment rights.
