What happens to a president who builds his reputation on being a straight-shooter but is shown to be master BS artiste in the mold of, say, Bill Clinton?
What Democrats need to do is to make sure they take both houses of Congress back -- and with big majorities. Sounds easier said than done? It should not be that tough. Democrats have whole year and more to get it right this time. They need to take the gloves off in a coordinated and united way, totally tune out the attacks from the Republicans for doing so, raise a lot of money, build up their own version of FOX channel, and find and groom a bunch of good candidates to run in 2006. Any "special interest group", such as Aipac or "Democrats" like Lieberman, that stands in the way of the Democrats hitting as hard with the evidence regarding Iraq, should be ignored and alternative sources and supporters groomed instead. Indeed, these kind of Democrats should themselves come under heavy attack, so they will watch their steps as they try to muddy up the message. Play dirty if necessary, play tough for sure, but get back the Congress. Once that is done, the hole house of cards built on lies that has characterized Bush's foreign policy will come crashing down. There is enough dirt on this administration, if there was a Congress willing to look into it, to make the Nixon White House look like boy scouts.
Didn't expect that for someone whose handle is "argentine soccer" and who hasn't been in this country long enough to discuss other people's nationality! That kind of comment from Timmerman, who is now writing books trying to link Iran to Al Queda, and who wanted to hurt the Kerry campaign by writing articles like the one below, might be a despicable part of the "dirty tricks" games of some Republicans and some pro-Israeli groups. But from you? Yikes.
He gets memoralized as a tremendous hero; perhaps gets the Nobel Peace prize, has his bust added to Mt. Rushmore, and gets his library built in Texas!
Aipac, Lieberman AIPAC endorses many candidates who were against the war. That's hardly a litmus test. Given your peculiar focus, I'll also mention Jewish members of Congress were more likely to vote against the war in Iraq than non-Jews. I'll still be a Democrat while you'll be working for some facsist party in Iran (assuming you actually keep your promise and go back there).
And the convenience store, to sell the batteries that they invented, for the marital aides, which, of course, they conceived. And popcorn chicken.
I think being Argentine makes me an expert. If you want I can give Iran some free advice about how to grow your economy.
Please. Don't make puke. This article is about Iranian Americans in the DC area, although obviously the largest Iranian American community is in southern California, including what Iranians dub Tehrangeles. A very successful community, it had assimilated too well to have much reason to be organized along ethnic lines -- until George Bush came along.
I wasn't talking about "Jewish" members. I am talking about those members like Lieberman, and those so beholden to the pro-Israeli line within the Democratic party, that they are used by FOX and others to silence Democrats who say what needs to be said about the war. They can be Jews or they can be voodoo worshipers for all I care.
WTF have you done to this thread? Battery operated marital aids; Iranian-American Jewish Organizations. At least ITN stays on messge, hilarious as it is.
You mean the one w/ the Dubya flag in the pile of dog crap? You prefer that? Okay - I'll look. BTW, does anyone else notice Dubya taking on Clinton's facail expressions? Case in point:
The thought of a George W. Bush "library" is one of the funniest things I have heard in some time. They are building it down the street from the Lindsay Lohan Chic-Fil-A and around the corner from the Ronnie O'Brien Beauty Spa.
I should have mentioned, btw, that not only Iranian Americans have the highest incomes of any group in America, Iran itself ranks way ahead of Argentina in both GDP and GDP per capita. (Iran ranks #12 in the world in GDP and #48 in GDP per capita. Argentina ranks #38 in GDP and #84 on per capita basis!). Honestly, if your experience as a small business owner in America has made you so wise in economic matters, why don't you go help out your country. It is a shame that a country which suffers no sanctions, ranks so low in everything except soccer! If Iran wanted advice from successful businessmen in America, there are plenty of Fortune 500 business leaders who Iranian Americans (50 of them). Including the second richest American under 40 years of age -- the guy who founded Ebay. Or Iran could tap into the large number of Iranian professors who teach at the top of Ivy league and comparable schools in American (some 500 of them). Sorry, but I am still fuming at someone who hasn't been in the US that long, with the handle "argentine soccer", trying to define which ethnic groups in America should comment on American politics!
Swagger it, IM, if it makes you feel better. I guess it is significant that Iran has a higher GDP than Argentina. On the other hand, Argentina has better football, better wine, better food, better skiing, and better nightlife. In addition, at the present time in Argentina they don't have clerics running the country and telling the people how to live their lives, and the women are not all covered up all the time. Does that make us even?
No...you had an earlier avatar...before the disrespectful one! I'm busy searching for a Justice Roberts avetar now...by the way: Great President Bush picture!
I think I'd be a bit biased on that one. BTW Revolt, you called this thread 'The New Poll', but I didn't find a poll. Although, I guess you may have thought it is not necesary. If the question is 'do you trust GW Bush?' I think it is predictable how people here will vote. Unless of course somebody finds a way to cheat, like they used to in the polls about Bush/Kerry, before the elections. Something like 1018 people would vote for Bush and 78 would vote for Kerry. Did they ever figure out who the hacker was, and how they did it?
