As caves go, I think it is a mansion-- they get to reopen the government on a temp basis, and a month from now the Reeps still need the same votes and the price can remain the same. Either tha Dec 15th vote goes the Dems way, or they don't back the continuing resolution; and remember the Congress will be under pressure to fix both problems, both parties.

The Reeps may very well vote to make the ACA payments permanent, enough of the Reeps anyways. They'll either have to relearn how a bill becomes a law, or they'll get the blame for making government not work...

 

With "new relevance" I meant that the word "caveman" can now not only mean "a man who lives in a cave", but also "a caving man". Linguistic evolution, so to speak.

 

Or they can finish passing the various appropriation budget bills, go to reconciliation, and pass it without Democrat votes again. If they had finished their job on time, they wouldn't have needed any Democrat votes, they would have just passed something acceptable to D moderates in the Senate and passed something crazy in the house and agreed in reconciliation to the house version.
