Maccabi Coach Itzhak Shum will be the new PAO manager for the next two years...

One question to the Israeli friends here!

Does he use this cane and is as strict as he looks! ;) LOL !

Well, he did a very good job with Maccabi, but for PAO standards this is a gamble! Especially after the so many years the fans of the Greens wait for a championship !

I hope he makes it (only in Europe of course! LOL ! )

he was the coach of Maccabi Haifa(green&white) not Maccabi Tel-Aviv(Yellow&Blue)

i don't think he's the right man for the job in PAO just because he beat Olympiakos once(that's why you brought him doesn't it??)
BTW,Maccabi Tel-Aviv won the title in israel on goal difference from Maccabi Haifa(both teams finished 2 points above hapoel Tel-Aviv in 3rd)

    Well,

Thankd for the xtra info but if you say that he is not good for PAO then I am happy ! I am an AEK fan! ;)

However, I would hate to see PAO lose points in Europe where thay traditionally do a good job. I hope he can manage there!

There are many things to be taken into consideration. In the Israeli league, there are three big clubs. The rest prove to be competition but it is easier when you manage one of the big clubs and your spending budget is a whole lot more.

Another thing is that Yitzhak Shum didn't shape the squad. The squad was formed by current national team manager Avraham Grant who managed Maccabi Haifa before moving to the national team.

Yitzhak Shum was then manager of Hapoel Kfar Saba in the first division and national team assistant manager. He won the first division with Kfar Saba who made some great signings.

The only way Yitzhak Shum will survive in Greece is if he is given a big payroll and realizes that Greece is more difficult than Israeli Ligat haAl.
