Bogart seems to be awfully full of himself if he thinks the club needs to talk to him about Bartlett's future...
FC Dallas fans are also mystified that their team is giving a DP slot to a mediocre player coming off their best-ever season?
I had the eat children version of that T shirt. When I coached my kids’ soccer teams (and they were old enough to get it) I’d wear it to the 2nd or 3rd practice. I’d use it to make the point that details matter.
And now for something completely different: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DP3h5IEETHy/?igsh=MW9tMGJhZHdsaHR0Yg== Reminds one of Deema, Hristo, Aunger and Hudson.
Sigh And so it begins, the 2 months of the year when I follow any MLS writers on any social network. Really its 3 months, starting in December, but yea.
That doesn't appear to be the case in the press release. Though in a change, the club is saying how much the total deal is (over $15M with the transfer fee and player compensation included).
No idea if we overpaid or not but it's always nice to have a proven goal scorer on the roster. According to Fotmob stats he is pretty good at chance creation as well. His aerial duels are a weakness so it will be a big adjustment from Benteke. Probably not a good sign that Philly were willing to let him go after a productive year but beggars (this definitely applies to DC United) can't be choosers as they say.
Bad teams have to overpay. This is true in every sport. I don’t hate the move itself, but 5 years is surprising. I’m skeptical that we know something Philly doesn’t, but at least he’s a proven goalscorer in this league that’s in his prime (for the first half of the contract).
In Annapolis there is a diner that has sandwiches named for famous people. They have a “David Stokes“ but alas it’s not that David Stokes. La Norte Doug would be disappointed.
