freddy adu. 14 i think, taking the us by storm. He will play overseas at 16 or 17 - hes that damn good. Lives in maryland or virginia, not sure, just know the kid is good, really good. U heard it here first!!!
His name's Adu, huh? Thanks for pointing that out and calling our attention to him. Now that you've told us about him, I'm sure we'll all start following him!
I dreamt I read an article about him by someone on this board, but it couldn't have been real. This kid sounded too amazing. But after this thread, maybe I will look into this Adu character.
hey at least he recognized the talent. He said that and probably saw him in person. How many around here can say that??
Welcome aboard. Please ignore the cynicism here. That's the problem, that's why people were so rude to you. We didn't here it from you first. Any details you can give us about his game would be appreciated. By me, anyway.
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here! Please excuse our sarcastic tone, but we get probably one new Freddy Adu thread a month. Usually someone finds a 6 month old article and starts a new thread even when there is one already going that cites the same article. Yeah, we've followed him for over a year now. He's trained with DC United and will train with them again when the U-17's go to Europe. He doesn't have his citizenship and Bruce Arena is doing everything he can to help expedite that so we can cap-tie him to the US (becaue he's originally from Ghana and his brother wants to play for the Ghana National Team). His best skill is his ability to hold the ball, dribble at speed while maintaining complete control. He's a very good prospect, and we hope he continues to develop, but he's in no way dominating the U-17's so he still has quite a bit of development to go before we start labelling him as a true phenom. Hopfully he continues to develop at the rate he already has. If so, he could be very very good, but that's mostly speculation. -Tron
