The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has played Final Fantasy tracks in the past. I should go see one next show they do.
Song that's fun to play on guitar: Simple, catchy, and easy to learn if you're picking up guitar. In my near 20 years of playing, I've learned to play Mahavishnu Orchestra, funk, folk, Joni Mitchell (She reckons she has at least 50 different tunings), jazz, self taught myself Sakamoto and Legend of Zelda. I don't even play in a band or at open mics, I'm just a hobbyist and will only play for a small number of people. People who usually see me play a lot are girlfriends. I just do this because it's fun and I believe doing something artistic is good. No matter what the AI advocates think. But this? This is fun. Just feel like messing around? Here you go. And today was one of those days.
I heard/saw an impressive video of Fly... Eagle sometime in the last year or so. Young Steve Miller. It was much cooler, more stoner oriented overall than the party stuff he's known for.
Late sixties, early seventies Miller was pretty much right in line with the San Francisco sound. "Sailor," "Brave New World," "Your Saving Grace," "5," and "Recall the Beginnings...A Journey from Eden" all claimed a share of my shelf space for a long time, and three of them are still there.
A legend from my days. https://www.facebook.com/groups/juk...k/4044878952504444/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
Random fun fact about No Diggity, Bill Withers has a songwriting credit it on it since they sampled "Grandma's Hands"
I wanna be top-rated: Ramones’ 20 greatest songs – ranked! | The Ramones | The Guardian sorry 'The Guardian', weak list. how do you completely miss these??
My 17-yo daughter and 3 of her friends dragged me to see KC and the Sunshine Band last night, and I must say they were surprisingly good. I remember most of their songs from my yute, but unlike a lot of older acts, they didn't go through the motions. KC himself is 73 years old and he's put on a lot of weight, but he still has the moves! His voice is still in good form too. They played for about 90 minutes and came back for a couple of encores. All in all, a very good show when my expectations weren't all that high. But that's the way I like it (uh-huh, uh-huh)
Well, I hope when I’m 73 I can still put on my boogie shoes and get down tonight (or any other night).
Debuted highest on the vinyl charts! Does that really suggest that the high-fi perfectionists are the only people still caring about classic punk???
I don't think so. They've sold out their next show tomorrow night at the Guild Theater. Still tickets left for Tuesday. Los Angeles punk legends X headline Guild Theatre in Menlo Park - CBS San Francisco (cbsnews.com)
