"Kill Bill," his kung-fu flick starring Uma Thurman.

The Kung Fu genre is by far Tarantino's favorite, which means this should be his most personal film.

Also, the closer he stays to genre conventions, the better he is, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

    Here's a trailer:

I saw this trailer before 'Gangs' this weekend. I think it looks awful. I'll keep an open mind, but still....

But do you guys like the Kung Fu genre? You know- the Tsui Hark-type films?

I'm not a huge fan or a devotee or anything, but I've appreciated and even liked some of the films I've seen in that genre, even a couple of Tsui's.

By the way, I didn't know until recently that he studied at Texas.

What also worries me about 'Kill Bill' is that Tarantino said something about how it was a chance for him to indulge himself - his geek fanboy movie, if you will. And while I respect that, I worry that non-fanboys like me won't "get it", so to speak.

Isaw the trailer when watching Gangs. I'm not a Tarantino fan, and I was completely blown away. The combination of musical aestehtics and kung fu in the one scene is unreal And all those guys hwo look at Teeny-bop flavor of the month and think how hot she is, look at Uma. She's just way up on her own plain.

I thought the action scenes were great, but for some reason it just came off too campy for me. Maybe it was the music that ruined it for me.

I'll definitely give it a shot though.

Yeah, that's what I learned after watching True Romance for the 15th bazillion time tonight. Gets even better the more I watch it. Anyone get that SE DVD for xmas like me? The alternate ending really sucked, glad they stuck with the original.

But about Kill Bill. I've never been a fan of Kun-Fu movies, still to this day I've never seen a Jackie Chan movie just cause I don't really have any desire to. I think I might check this out on video when it comes out. Definately looks like it's straight out of a 60's Kung-Fu movie.

You know it's gonna be dope 'cause he's got Uma dressed in that yellow body suit that Bruce Lee wore in the climactic scene of "Game of Death" !
