I honestly hadn’t seen their logo until you mentioned it, Reminds me of how the Sounders MLS logo was received compared to their USL one... only much worse.
Whoah - this is some quality stadium pron here. Great slideshow. Fapp away! https://www.stltoday.com/news/local...e_c452cf5a-cee8-56a8-b50e-1cbdde830bb4.html#1 Seems like the Taylor fam is quietly going about things right! Having the training center right downtown could be a great coup/showpiece - though limiting to three fields (including stadium) and a keeper training box. I suppose that's not smaller than fairly ambitious clubs like LAFC and NYCFC, but do we suppose they'd want an academy at another site? USL team? NWSL? All about the fantasizing here...
Interpreting google maps... Carlos Vela's office is at the dead end of Highbury Ave, just sain'. Bob probably picked that site to motivate him.
Minority owner Jim Kavanaugh is the CEO of the USL's St. Louis FC (who are already set up to be the new MLS team's affiliate). STLFC plays at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park in suburban St. Louis (it's also home to the Scott Gallaghar youth soccer academy). The facility (capacity: 5,260) includes: six full-size fields, office space for club staff, indoor event space, indoor training center, and a fan shop. It's all pretty nice when it's not flooded in the spring time....
Little confused about the site. https://goo.gl/maps/aHFnMHNKPne9HQi87 Article says stadium on the north side of Market Street, practice fields on the south side of Market "between 21st and 22nd streets." The google map seems to indicate there are I-64 on-and-off-ramps right there. Are these being dynamited? I'm all for St.Louis in MLS and I like the rendering, just wondering what I'm missing with the site...
Yeah. He just followed up with a tweet saying that the news is media related (new tv contract?) and nothing to do with a stadium.
Yes, those ramps would be removed, and the next interchange west of thw stadium (Jefferson Ave) will be rebuilt. From the article HdB linked: According to people familiar with the project, construction is waiting on a final agreement between the Missouri Department of Transportation and the city. MoDOT owns the highway ramps that will be removed to make room for the massive project; the city plans to acquire the land and sell it to the ownership group. But the city and state have to hammer out a new cost-sharing agreement for roadwork at nearby Jefferson Avenue, a project that will have to be coordinated with stadium construction. That roadwork is part of city and state efforts to improve access to the new National Geospatial Intelligence Agency's western headquarters, which will break ground next month.
Possibly, but the NGA campus isn't slated to be ready (2023) until after the stadium (2022). MODOT has already voted to sell the land, and the city has committed to the purchase. Just figuring out numbers now.(HOPEFULLY )
Seven new SSS to open between 2021/2022 sounds more like wishful thinking than something achievable. Hope I am wrong though.

I think it is terrible. The USL logo is much better IMO. The MLS one looks like a road sign. If the team is going for a road sign/construction imagery...they nailed it. I think it might work for a team like The Crew.
Eh, the USL logo looks line one of those extremely generic things you'd see on PES for Premier League teams that they don't have the rights to. (It's what I worry the Fire will get too) The badge shape for Nashville MLS isn't my favorite but I like the "N" sonic design a lot.
