CRy7ng. He said WC wont change anything, but he played in 6 editions and celebrated out of his mind when scoring a penal there Portugal scored 8 goals in 5 games. Messi played less than 4.5 games & had 7 goals + 1 assist.
9 consecutive World Cup games scoring at least one goal most goals AND assists surpassing Klose (Mbappe) and Maradona
Almost disaster performance in 70 minutes then back to his genius in last 20 minutes. And what happened to his penalty?
He's always been hot and cold when it comes penalty. We've known this since long ago. He scored 6 (including shootous) and missed just once in 2022 and has scored multiple leading up to this WC, eventually he's going to miss some again. Copa 2016 final was another example and against Ecuador in Copa 2024.
He is 100% World Cup Golden Ball winner now. That make it three times. I hope they will present something special for this feat.
to cross with his right foot EXACTLY where Lautaro have a chance to head it despite surrounded by all those tall players is crazy , it grazed the hair of the defender before it went to him
Not so fast: France/Mbappe are in the 3rd place game. Goals and assists in that game count towards the Golden Ball Award, and all of the individual awards. As you know, Mbappe is highly motivated to win individual accolades, so I would expect him to play 90 minutes, to try hard, and to take each and every PK on offer. The race for that award isn't decided, just yet.
he said golden ball not golden boot , if Mbappe score or assist and messi fails to do any of those things then sure Mbappe will win the golden boot but golden ball usually gets taken by someone from the winner team or runnerup and Messi has contributed more than anyone from Spain/Argetina
Thats right; I'd mixed those two up. But, I think its 100% likely that Mbappe will play 90 in an attempt to win personal accolades.
He will be the first player to start in 3 WC finals. Cafu played in 3 finals but in 1994 he came as a sub though. Btw that right foot cross is so satisfying.
