Their WC runs were remarkably similar, but the big difference is that Euro 2008 and 2012 were tougher tournaments to win than Copa 2021 and 2024. The latter basically amounts to needing to win 3 matches.

Perhaps, but you can only beat teams in front of you. Current Argentina elo is higher than peak elo of Spain before CC13. And although anything can happen, very hard to see Argentina pull Spain WC14.

Sure, I'm not faulting them for playing easier teams just saying it is not comparable. Just like Qatar winning back-to-back AFC Cups isn't similar to Argentina winning back-to-back Copas.

Goated. On paper and on grass. It's a non-argument really, except if you're, for lack of a better term, a hater.

Through pass is Messi's speciality. Lob pass too.

Not much of a crosser though.

They should've shown played games, or omitted players below 50 games, which would take out those three players.

Anyway it's a good list, Sofascore gives more value for passing game where's whoscored values scoring and dribbling more.

    whoscored.com cl ratings since 09-

    8,40 Messi
    7,99 Cronaldo
    7,97 Neymar

Finally return after near 2 months. Score 2 and make 1 assist. Still the best.

MLS is still a joke. Miami players wont even run to receive a pass quicker, they just wait for the ball to arrive to their feet.

It's a near retirement league. Can't expect more.

Still i think Messi can play at highest level in European league now. But that probably is little exhausting for him. He wants to chill with his family and friend.

Miami only needs 9 points from 6 games to secure Supporters Shield. And Messi is still running for MVP despite missing over half the games.

    26 Acosta (11+15) 26
    25 Bouanga (17+8) 26
    25 Evander (12+13) 23
    24 Messi (14+10) 13
    ...

Also with 15+15 in 19 games becomes the fastest player to do so, beating previous record by 10 games.

I'd say his goal of century replica double nutmeg is still the best,

I don't know, there's just something poetic about no touch nutmegs.

The most impressive thing is how Messi makes everything so simple, so easy, like as if anyone can do but 99% can't. Also he didn't let the armband go.

Amazing run, but there is only one meg in this run. The first dribble isn't a meg. Defender's right foot goes behind the ball and so does his left foot afterwards.
