We're certainly good enough to keep elite players who have developed entirely in our system both athletically and emotionally. I'm confident that these players are relishing the thought of bringing us up to elite soccer status.

Back in December 2008, the United States U-17 played Brazil U-17 in the Nike Friendlies. This game is always in my memory because of how ridiculously phenomenal a player called Coutinho was. You really had Ronaldinho vibes in this game. The Coutinho show. Just shredded the US team from every aspect. Just recently I found out, a kid called Neymar was also in that game. Zero memory of him in that game. Its mind boggling. A kid from that game turned out to be future World Best XI & it was not Coutinho. Neymar eventually broke out 6 months later. Relating it to now, somebody like Sullivan can have all the hype & sizzle (and still be a borderline world-class player) but somebody like Mathis can turn out to be a long-term World Best XI player. Just never know how these things turn out.
Its also true that we've known about Albert for a while on this board. Its not like he's coming out of nowhere. The first post mentioning him on these boards is from nearly two years ago. We knew he was a good prospect at the Galaxy. There's a reason he was recruited to Dortmund. He's a prospect just like Cavan is. Prospect being a latin word meaning "hasn't really done squat yet."
Who was our best player in that Nike/Neymar tournament... I may be getting my years confused but it was somebody like... Stefan Jerome who played for a few years in Czechia and Sweden before falling off the map... Cavan Sullivan Mathis Albert please let us just develop a few world class players whoever they are!
Just funny to me, Clint Eastwood is a poster who will adamantly (for months) defend putting 14-year olds into top-level Pro games, but then side-swipe interject onto an anecdote, and say " hes a prospect" after a loose analogy. or say "Prospect being a latin word meaning "hasent relly done squat yet"". Hypocritical good doggies who have to ruin every thread.
It seems unlikely. Hard to believe he’d play this year, even if he was to hypothetically make the bench. Teams don’t throw 15-16 year olds on unless it’s a low pressure, nothing to play for situation. Those rarely arise in the UCL, and if they do it’s like the next matchday or two before the knockout round is set and it would probably even be too early for that. With the new format too, it makes that even more unlikely that a good team has nothing to play for in the initial phase. So it’s probably a next season at earliest situation for the UCL. Think he turns 16 after the Bundesliga season ends, so he probably is looking at next season for both, at the earliest.
He can't play in the Bundesliga until he's 16 and a half, right? That would be this time next year. If he continues to progress, it would probably make sense for him to start integrating in their winter break and maybe start making the bench for the rückrunde
https://amp.bundesliga.com/en/bunde...players-of-the-future-youssoufa-moukoko-10723 looks like the threshold got knocked down from 16.5 to 16, will be telling if he gets some opportunities in preseason
Last BL game is May 17th. All that he could play would be the Pokal final if BVB get that far. He could play a Champions League match but the remaining games are difficult. The next season should be his focus.
For both Cavan and Mathis the next key periods of their careers will be their clubs' next pre-season. This is when they will spend all their time with the first team and have an opportunity to be integrated into the first team. What they do with that opportunity remains to be seem. I expect both to grab that opportunity and make a big impression. Ditto for Nimfasha. Those are the big 3 in terms of attacking prospects.
They were already eliminated, so he can’t play until next season in any German competition. Champions League he theoretically could play now.
Yes, highly theoretocally. They would just need to be one of the best teams in the world to get there and have something like 10-12 players injured for him to play.
