    from Panorama

the italian magazine Panorama entrusted demoscopic agency Ac Nielsen Cra to carry out a national poll to establish the demographic and geographical distribution of the tifo in Italy..

Juventus leads the pack, from a distance: 8.711.000 tifosi,29% of the 30 millions italians who plead to be calcio fans. Inter are in second place (no surprise here, eheheh :D ) with 4.639.000, 60.000 more than AC Milan. Next is Napoli: 2.437.000,despite serie B and all. Following in order are Roma,Lazio,Torino,Fiorentina,Bologna.

the sample is constituted by 3.500 families comprising 9.100 individuals starting from 6 years of age.

35% of tifosi are women,11% under 13 and 16% over 64,24% students and 19% retired citizens,37% has the minimum required education,6% is a graduate from the university. A composition which faithfully reflects the italian society's: calcio breaks all social barriers

In Puglia and Liguria (!) the support for the Old Lady is predominant to the one awarded to local formations (Genoa and Sampdoria, mostly). But Juventus is equally hated as it is loved... public enemy n.1 for 41% of milanisti,36% of interisti,33% of romanisti, who hold the bianconeri as fiercer rivals than Lazio and laziali

what can i add... born to be n.1,good or bad!

Darn, I was hoping there would be an actual map which would somehow show the percentage of fans per club region, but I guess that'd be pretty hard to do.

It still amazes me with Juve's popularity that they can't fill Delle Alpi regularly. And they are planning a new stadium with a reduced capacity. Maybe it is a bit like Man Utd where most of the tifosi are from outside Turin.
