You're right, I shouldn't have made the comment about him being a class act. Poor words in retrospect. Regardless, I wouldn't lie about the coach. Maybe it isn't a good representation of his character, but it happened.

The match on Sunday should be a good one, Akron is a great soccer team and Hartwick is a team on the hunt.....for a big win and some respect. I'm sure they want to be the team that knocks Akron off. It will be a very physical match.

Your reaction was a bit intense for something that was pretty normal and easy to verify.

This is a pretty regular occurrence. In fact, it happens after every win. The nature of the win dictates how soon they go out there.

Yeah, that sounds like a bad idea.

Akron as usual. I'm sure "the baby kid " will complain but just as well NO NUI this year. Again he can cry.

Akron wins it 2-1 ....Hartwick closes the match with 2 RED cards.....It was pretty lousy at the end.....Hartwick should be ashamed of their finish.

Yeah, a complete loss of composure at the end by Hartwick. Never seen that before, and you'll get no defense of it from me.

Hartwick '90 here. Not to excuse 2 late reds, but I'm sure it was the frustration of losing to #1 twice in a row and the finality of the end of their season. Again, no excuse. Good luck to Akron in the tourney - please beat up those BCS conference teams!

I've done some work for Coach McInytre and I read his weekly (or so) team email updates. He's a good man.

By the way, I reffed youth soccer from 1993-2001 and there was never anything in the FIFA LotG about spinning balls on throw ins. The only stipulation was your feet and 2 hands on the ball going back over your head.
