The fact that he's getting any regular minutes for Mourinho says to me that he's likely to get more minutes further into the season. If Mourinho didn't like him then he wouldn't give him any minutes at all. If he's not getting more than 5 minutes every few games come December then, sure, a loan for the rest of the season might be due.
No, its actually very good for him. Reynolds is just a kid. He’s a kid getting regular minutes for Mourinho at Roma. This has been successful for him so far.
Not in the squad for the Conference League game today? Somewhat related: does Paramount+ not have All the Europa and Conference League games?

Very exciting finish to the game. Yes, it's an extremely limited sample size, but it looked like Reynolds was brought on to bomb down the right flank in the last minutes, and he was immediately getting service from his teammates. El Shaarawy "ruined" it by scoring a fantastic winning goal for Roma in the 91st from the opposite side, which shifted Reynolds back to a defending role for the last few minutes. Sassuolo had a spectacular equalizing goal (correctly) called back in the final seconds for offside - Reynolds not in any way involved or at fault there. Obviously it's silly to make evaluations from garbage-time substitutions, but I do see some slightly positive signs: - Mourinho likes him enough to bring him on when they are still trying to snatch a late victory - His teammates got the ball to him in the one threatening charge forward that he offered - He didn't f*&k up on the almost-equalizer that got called back. This isn't exactly the template for a breakout season, but he'll get his chances. I'm really curious to see if he gets more time in the Europa Conference League games this season. We'll know on Thursday...
A 20 year old kid from Fort Wayne, Indiana getting time at Roma. I like it. Give it another year to see if he can break into the starting 11. If not, go out on loan or get sold. It's ok to ride the bench for awhile.
Yeah he didn't look great last year and I kinda expected Jose would plant him on the bench. Carving out a regular sub role here would be a pretty successful season for a kid still getting his feet wet in a tough league and new country. Especially one not known for playing and focusing on youth.
I noticed Cristante yelling at Reynolds after the called off Sassuolo equalizer. You get a few snatches of it on Paramount+, such as at 94:06. Again it looks like the same thing was happening in the final seconds before the whistle blew at 95:30. A little strange, as Reynolds wasn't involved at all in that play, in terms of being close to the ball or causing problems for the Roma offside line. My theory is that Cristante wanted Reynolds to pressure instead of staying glued to the backline, and he seems volatile in any event.
Karsdorp can't play every minute of every game, and Roma have no other natural RB's. The club also paid $12 million for Bryan, so Mourinho will have to use him at some point. I think he'll get his first start on Thursday in the Conference League. If it's a disaster, then it'll be a perfect sales pitch to upper management that they'll need to make moves in the winter. If it goes well, then great for everyone involved.
Interesting feedback from the boss: https://www.calciomercato.com/news/...n-77772?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter I put Reynolds because he was the only full-back, if Ibanez had been on the bench I would have put him but he wasn't there. This is the difference between us and the others, you see the players that Inzaghi has put in, of quality and experience who can bring something in the last 20-30 minutes.
