    Ocam's razor ... Jose is a jerk.

There is a nice video out there about special operations talent selection and what they look for .... they want top performance in candidates but equally important (if not more so) is the ability to trust the candidate as a teammate. They will actually accept less performance from the candidate in order to get the "trust" and teammate factor which is important. Because in life and death situations you need to be able to trust someone else to protect your life. In other words - special operations don't want assholes.

    Jose is an a-hole.

Sooner or later his schtick wears off and the dressing room goes south. It happens with every team he has managed.

    the man is pathological.

Like others have said - Bryan Reynolds needs to run like crazy and get out of there.

Jose is a jerk no doubt but I couldn’t help looking at your example differently also. From a teammate point of view.

Gotta be able to trust the players on the field also, no? Maybe someone w less upside who is better than some potential guy.

Especially when u r a team that expects to compete at the top of the table.

Even before Jose BR didn’t seem to endear himself trust wise if I recall.

IMO, this is the worst case, a jerk of a coach, and a player who simply picked a team that was a bridge to far relative to hi current experience and ability. This is what u get.

Stephen El-Sharaawy (LWB) will miss the next 6+ weeks through injury and Rick Karsdorp (RWB) is suspended for their game against Inter this weekend. Maybe that opens up an opportunity for Bryan!

Just 1 thing stands in the way, unfortunately that is his coach...lol

Reynolds has made the bench against Venezia, Genoa, Zorya, Torino, and Bologna - so at least he's out of the deep freeze.

Roma host Inter on Saturday - I sense a great opportunity!

No idea. He kind of plateaued as a good player, nothing extraordinary and decided to follow the money and went to China (not that I blame him) kind of like Axel Witsel.

    edit. spelling.

Agree with this - one use of these friendly camps is to look at each player and think - "will this benefit this player?"

If they're getting regular playing time in Europe - nope.

If they might be in MLS cup - nope.

But if their MLS season is over or their Europe situation could use help, and they're healthy, and/or they are dual nats who might be interested in a taste of the US, by all means.

It could be a good shop window for Reynolds and Booth for a loan, and to give a huge number of players a chance to show off on a different stage. Roma nor Bayern could really make the argument that they're needed, so this is a mutually beneficial idea. Presumably Reynolds plays 30-90 minutes of this match with this squad list, too.

He's barely played so it's not as if he's been so poor for Roma.

He just isn’t ready for that level right now. I won’t even call him poor. Inexperienced. In over his head maybe. Add the coach he has and it was always a recipe for disaster.

One obvious question would be about Mourinho's lack of substituting - none at HT (down 0-3), just one at 61' and another at 90+1' - two total of five allowed, in a game that screamed for some reaction.

Hahaha, wow, what an ass. My hardest jobs have earned the least. Some of my highest paying jobs have been the least difficult. Pretty rich from a guy worth 100s of millions. It's a lot harder to work when you're worried, not about getting fired for poor performance or for being a petulant ass, but about putting food on your and your family's table, the roof over the head, the shoes on your feet, the aches and pains in the body you've given over to your work, one which doesn't pay you enough to maintain it.

He's descended from Blue Blood Fascists through his mother, one of the industrialist families financing the Portuguese version of Franco, Antonio de Oliveira. Bet he grew up thinking people who had to work for a living were riff raff.

Even if he hadn’t been saddled by having Mourinho this year, he wasn’t ready for Roma. The problem is that with that coach, his development is just on pause. A different coach would either have loaned him out or had a plan in place for the development of the youth. In this regime, guys like Reynolds are just disregarded. Blows.

Iffin you need another reason to say the British tabloids ain’t fit to wipe one’s arse, it would be suggesting that Mourinho would be a target for any team in the EPL.
