Sources: AC Milan is one of the (very many) teams chasing FC Dallas fullback Bryan Reynolds.Reynolds, 19, gathering huge interest from Europe despite just 15 career MLS starts so far with Dallas. #USMNT #DTID— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) December 12, 2020
I figured that they were likely one of the teams. Given that they have scouted Pomykal in the past, it stood to reason that they were more likely to be aware of and potentially interested in other top-level FCD prospects. Really happy for both Brian and FCD, and a really great time to be a US soccer supporter!
Was wondering if we would be one of the teams interested. Calabria is having a great season but has been wildly inconsistent. But even if you believe he has turned the corner, Dalot is on a one year loan as his back up and word is Man U does not want to sell him, Conti is likely leaving in January, and Kalulu is viewed more as a CB. In short, a back up RB is needed.

FC Dallas have received a bid from AS Roma of $9.2m/€7.5m for Bryan Reynolds, sources tells https://t.co/QqWAi38GbI. Marseille are also in the mix, I'm told. https://t.co/QqWAi38GbI and others have previously reported interest from AC Milan, Juventus and others.— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) December 17, 2020
It would be a mistake if they don't take that roma bid, no? seems like a really good sell to me at that price
If any of this is true, it's the most shocking transfer situation I've ever encountered on here. He's going to go for 3 times the price of Reggie Cannon after half a season?
Not if someone else will pay more! Pretty sure $9.2 million would be a record transfer for an American in MLS, though.
damn since when is the dollar weaker against the Euro? Wasn't it just a few years ago in which a dollar was .90 euro? Either way, hot damn!
Argument could be made that davies, adams, mckennie have started premium prices now. Also 10 million ten years ago probably equates to 20 million today, all the things equal.
If wikipedia is accurate about Jozy's transfer fee, $9.2m would be the second highest fee in dollars paid for an American in MLS (with Jozy at $10m), but €7.5m would be the highest transfer in euros for an American in MLS (with Jozy at €7.4m). But yeah either, way, Altidore will probably have him beat in inflation adjusted terms.
davies being able to go so young while already being so physically mature and adams having the red bull to red bull connection makes me really look at mckennie. no professional experience, fully developed by an mls club until 18 due to no passport.
Yeah, this one baffles me. From the handful of Dallas games I've seen him in play in, he's come across as someone who looks pretty good for a teenage rookie, but doesn't immediately jump out as someone primed to get an $8-9 million transfer fee. He does have very interesting raw tools, and I could easily see someone taking a flier on him for a couple million (like Bayern did with Richards), but the prices being talked about seem crazy to me, especially for a RB.
Scouts at multiple high profile clubs see something. I mean, when I first saw his highlights I wondered how FC Dallas had kind of kept this talent hidden from people out side of Dallas.
You've got it backwards. The Euro has always been stronger than the dollar but the gap closed to .9 and has since widened back out.
