Have Schalke's U-19s lost at all since out boys arrived? Nice to see Taitague hanging out. 17 February cannot come soon enough!
Weston told me last week that he would be out for 6 weeks, so it seems like he will be back in a month or so. 6 weeks— Weston McKennie (@WMckennie) December 4, 2016
This doesn't really answer your question, but they have yet to lose this season. 12 wins, 3 draws. I'm definitely excited to see a trio of Americans dominating Schalke's U19s soon. Assuming one of them doesn't get called up before they get to play together

Bundesliga Fanatic It's actually an article about Haji Wright, but it talks about McKennie a bit, too.
Yup. Its amazing how quickly he became the captain of Schalke's U19s. In the past calendar year he also served as captain of FCDs U18s (that won the national championship, although Weston didn't play in the semifinal/final of the playoffs) and various USYNTs at tournaments (especially the U19s).
There was a point this summer where he had captained FCD, US U19's, and Schalke all in a 3 - 4 week span. He captained Schalke in a friendly before he'd even officially joined the club. I'd never seen that before.

I might start a riot, but of all the Yanks at Schalke (McKennie, Wright, Taitague), I wonder who's the most likely to see first-team action? If they're all likely, I wonder who'll be first? (Yes, that could be a long way away.) (The obvious answer seems to be Haji -- except McKennie walked through the door with his arm outstretched and had the captain's armband placed around it.)
What a goal. Check out @WMckennie's goal from this weekend's game! Great finish! #S04US pic.twitter.com/OMt40oLaiS— Schalke 04 USA🇺🇸 (@s04_us) February 13, 2017

I have followed this kid for a number of years and he has every tool there is in his locker. For me, he epitomizes what we should be looking to develop. Fundamentally sound, great soccer IQ and a motor that never stops. Should be nailed on to captain our U20 team should they qualify for U20 World Cup. I also believe he has a great future in Europe. He plays a position that requires experience to be in a top European club - give him some time and I think we will see him playing many Champions League games in his career.
