With Jon Stewart retired and rescuing horses and Steven Colbert losing ever more relevance, I thought it might be appropriate to have a thread for their ideological heirs: Jon Oliver and Seth Meyers. Oh, there is Samantha Bee, but while I have enjoyed her take in her current show, she still annoys me from her Daily Show days and I have a hard time watching her. Trevor Noah is out of his depth and appears a perfect exemplar of the Peter Principle.

So, here's to Jon Oliver and Seth Meyers: two guys who are oh-so-obviously pundits and who both want to be considered "just comedians".

My sig is a Seth Meyers quote and if I had to choose a single sentence to explain Drumpf, Meyers nailed him. Here's to a long glorious run for Jon and Seth.

Oliver on point with regards to the state of journalism today:

The parody of Spotlight, called Stoplight, is pretty funny. Also sad. Very sad.

Veep is wrapping up this week so Colbert came from another dimension to plead with Selina to stop being so Trumpy

John Oliver is terrific of course, but Andy Saltzman was the real genius in that pair.
