Hopefully Klopp will be in charge of the team ASAP. At least we can have something pleasant to talk about in the midst of euphoria of that little fella.

Thanks, will do. I think, hiring Kloppo won't be enough. I hope there will be proper change through the entire DFB.

I think Klopp can make de difference even in the shorter period with the players he has at his disposal. Not meaning beating top 5 but the teams like Paraguay.
Even Germanys U21 team has has a marketvalue more then twice as high as f eg Paraguay.

of course we might need a clinical 9 and RB to reach the absolute top but trusting Klopp to at least not underperform with the current players as Flick and Nagelsmann.

think Klopp will play Havertz at top trying him out in a Firimino role starting the gegenpressing.

Post 2014 summit in Brazil we for some odd reason rested on our laurels which is inexcusable.

We are now in a position where we cannot afford to drift further from the elite pack. We need to route out the issues right from Grassroots to the very top!

There were warning signs pre and during 2014, our depth was lacking, especially at CF and FB in particular and even during that tournament we were close to a last 16 exit v Algeria.

We had a very good core especially through the spine of the team, but there were issues with position specific training even back then.

That coupled with the self congratulating and complacency at the DFB led to our crash and burn as soon as Lahm retired and a few players started to get older.

Its quite ridiculous that a big football country like Germany cant produce FBs and CFs for the highest level. Especially with the tradition of players in a those positions.

Adeyemi is joining Barcelona. I think this is good for him and the NT. His progression stalled at Dortmund due to injuries and other reasons. He is still young and good player for counter attacking situations.

Now with Adeyemi, Brandt and Sule gone, only 4 players left in Dortmund who are part of the NT - Schlotterbeck, Anton, Nmecha and Beier. Can is closed to retirement so not counting him. Dortmund needs injection of at least 2-3 German players in the squad who has realistic chances of making it the 18 man matchday squad. Who are they?

Playing under Flick for a club like Barca could be the kick start Adeyemi needs, Kovac very rarely improves young players nor does he play in a particularly attacking style. Hopefully he can start to reach his potential.

What did Voller do wrong actually?
I believe if Klopp was available he would have hired him in the first place.
No obvious choice of the alternate, hiring Nags wasn't really a 'bad' decision.
Germany's performance was on Nags and the players, so what was Voller's fault actually?

From the rumours I've heard Klopp has no issue with Völler. Unfortunately there is a lot of speculation about everything and Klopp is tight lipped about it. As he should be. We'll only know once the contract is signed and everything officially announced.

I think I have been a little unfair with legend Völler as well. He took over before Nagelsmann, and they beat France. After that, no idea what he did wrong. He is part of the old guard, so sacred anyway.

He defended Nagelsmann in public which is the right thing to do. But it became kind of a meme with Völler every other week telling everybody that Nagelsmann literally can't speak for himself like a grownup. Maybe Völler should have let some of the criticism through, although we don't know what has been talked about internal. In the end, Völler couldn't shield Nagelsmann nor could influence the down trending off the team. Hard to judge how much of that is really Völler's responsibility.

I am fine with him staying if somebody like Mertesacker gets onboard to modernize the academy system.

Personally i think that was mostly the failure of Löw who consistently bungled the transition and was always reactive. e.g Nagelsmann executed a very good transition when he came in for the 2024 euros

'16 - four man midfield due to failure to drop washed Schweini and hand the team to Kroos/Ozil
'18 - complete failure to renew the side
'21 - incoherent team composition, and tactical approach

It's not really until you get to '24 that Germany finally grappled with all this, and '26 is the first tourney without being utterly dependent on Kroos - with I guess predictable results

We are either having a complete revamp like we did in the early 2000s or we aren't. What we have done in the last 10 years have not worked from the top down, so we should just have a complete break from what and who lead us here and start again from the ground up.....it's been 3 world cups and 2 Euros now including the one at home in 2024 and our best results is the quarter finals. That's unacceptable. Everyone at the DFB should take responsibility and resign or be forced out....enough is enough.

Remember that until recently the DFB (via DFL) was mostly preoccupied in selling out German football to US Private Equity firms. It was only a giant fan pushback that stopped them. Voller should be sacked for that alone.

Winning fixes everything....more prize money, more merch sales, and more lucrative TV deals...etc Until then unfortunately we have to put up with the "privatization" of some aspects of the sport if we want to have the money to invest in rebuilding the program from the grass roots, because we are not getting that money from the government. As much as the Nike logo is going to be a stain on the NT shirt we have to remember that if the Adidas ones werent such spectacular failures since 2018 (due to the NT performances) Adidas wouldn't have had an issue matching the Nike money.

This is maybe unpopular but sadly at some point we have to allow private ownership in the Bundesliga so you get investment in youth academies that way (wish can be made a condition for private owners to be allowed to own clubs)

Red Bull have agreed to release Klopp for free, with keeping Klopp as a brand ambassador. Of course the fan groups are against it calling "capitulation" haha Thankfully no one cares what they say.

Since the 1950s, this is the only decade (x0-x9) when Germany would not have reached a World Cup final.

I haven't see any updates on the negotiations between the DFB and RB. Has anyone seen any recent updates? The expectation was that they would be finished by the middle of the week. Getting kind of worried here.
