I like this template so I like the design and even a hint of green is better than no green in the league. Baby steps
Watch thorns reveal this same kit with green now I just don't think that green looks good with that neon yellow..
Seems so. Perhaps some new restrictions were made that some misinterpreted. I imagine some teams may not have been happy with Dash's alternative kit last year as may have impacted what host team could wear? At the moment no one wears a home neon and/or green kit.
I definitely expect the Thorns to switch to this design. The only question is if it is for both home and away. I'll admit a red and black would look cool
I think that any of the 2 "primary" color kits (aka where two distinct colors were in fairly equal amounts) were problematic. So Houston's away, Orlando's away, Chicago's away, Washington's home, and WNY's away. FCKC's home was OK (IMHO) because it was all blue, but I can see how it might cause a problem playing against SBFC who only had blue kits. Though that I blame on SBFC, not FCKC. If I were setting the regulations, I'd say every team should use the same template for their primary (aka home) and alternate, and use a completely different primary color for the alternate. (So Portland and Seattle got it right last season). And teams should just always wear their primary unless visiting a team whose primary clashes (so Seattle would wear the blue against Houston and Portland, but the lime against Boston Chicago, and FCKC).
And of course thorns now with the tweet showing off same template. Guessing this would be new home jersey. (sneak peek. keep an 👀 out Wednesday for more...) #BAONPDX pic.twitter.com/8r9yBNWJvJ— Portland Thorns FC (@ThornsFC) April 12, 2017

From what I heard, the company that supplies the badges, names and numbers screwed up which has delayed the unveiling for several teams.
Here's an update to my previous chart: TeamHomeAwayCan Purchase BostonSameMostly SameYes/No ChicagoSameNewYes Houston?New?/No FCKC?Same??/Yes? North CarolinaNewNewPre-order OrlandoNew?Yes/? PortlandNewSameYes SeattleSameNewYes SBFCNew?No/? WashingtonNewSame?No/Yes?

It's like NWSL Season 1 and the Hertha all over again... Great to see the league and Nike have made so much progress in these 5 seasons.
A small criticism. At least three NWSL teams last weekend (Chicago, Houston, Washington) wore jerseys that fade to white up around the shoulders. As a result the players' names, written in white, are completely obscured. Why don't they outline the names in black at least? Right now they are illegible.
The are outlined, just it's still illegible on the tv/streams: (I had suggested that Houston use light blue instead of white, when they came out with these last season)
Better late then umm...... Hey all you soccer kit nuts, the Dash are releasing their new away kit within 10 minutes.
