The risk/reward from Israel’s perspective is what makes your scenario insane. Netanyahu is evil AF and sure, that’s its own kind of insanity, but Bibi can assess information and make decisions in a way that’s rational given his worldview. He’d never approve this, which is why I can be pretty confident in saying Israel wasn’t to blame. It’s not the capabilities or logistics or any of that stuff, it’s that only an insanely delusional Israeli would think killing Kirk was worth the risk of it being found out.
