Hell, the crazy thing is that Yanks Abroad might YAWN at that in 2026. I still remember when Jeremiah White was exciting to follow.
According to The Athletic and The Guardian, Tessmann is not making the roster. Brutal cut, or worse injury than previously disclosed? We have all off-season to discuss!
Hope Tanner is eventually interviewed about missing out on World Cup. Want to find out if it was injury related or not.
Lyon are training in Germany, and Tessmann played the first half (one hour) v Slavia Prague. OL's first-half lineup: Greif – Maitland-Niles, Mata, Kluivert, Abner – Tessmann, Morton – Boudache, Tolisso, Duranville – Himbert. https://www.olympique-et-lyonnais.c...ner-et-tessmann-integrent-le-onze,402817.html
I hope one day we find out why he wasn't selected over Roldan. He was injured a few months before the final selection. I thought he was good to go.
Likely Poch couldn't gamble on two players coming back from injury and he had to have Richards. Tanner needs to put his head down and work and not say anything about the lack of selection as there is a high probability that Poch returns for another cycle.
What I'd really love is for him to explore and work on CB skills. His relative lack of first step quickness becomes less of an issue, while his line breaking pass ability becomes more of an asset.
Agree that moving back a position in the field might benefit him. He needs to channel his disappointment into improvement on the field and see how high his ceiling really is.
Tessmann did not start today against Wolfsburg but came on late (at 78') and at 91' ... "A close header assist by Tessmann for a close header goal to double the lead!" 91’ Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez ⚽️ GOAL
