Textor went on a podcast recently and implied that he adjusted the price of several players to the benefit of his "partner" Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Forest. This became a tabloid subject for a few days because the English tabloids cast both Textor and Marinakis as villains. TT moving from Lyon to Forest would probably bring this back up, despite the fact that Textor is only an owner now, and allegedly isn't involved in day-to-day operations.
He's a striker, which Tanner most definitely isn't. Other than a statement of OL as an attractive destination for top clubs and their misfiring players or maybe its budgetary indications, it's not going to affect Tanner's situation
There’s literally an Old English Folk song called Robin Hood and the Tanner, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood_and_the_Tanner, I doubt the tabloid press would write a headline out of it, but they also aren’t going to write one about Tessman joining Forest (with regards to the Textor/Mariakis relationship which is old news).
It's "old news" by like 3 weeks, and I think you're underestimating how much the English press like to write about figures like Textor or Mariakis.
I’m English, but your might well follow English football press more than I do, so maybe the they’ll make a Tanner Tessmann (which would be a pretty small transfer story)/ Textor - Marinakis headline in the Nottingham Post!
IDK, I feel like Marinakis gets a lot of headlines compared to most other owners, but I probably am overthinking things. Regardless, I don't think that "American player transferred from Textor club to Marinakis club" would go unmentioned, considering recent events.
Tessmann on in the 66th on the way to a 3-1 win over Monaco. Nothing positive or negative really stands out in his stats.
Molto bene! His gameday coverage should be as good. Tessmann started and went the full distance on Sunday, as Lyon advanced past host Lille in the Coupe de France (R32). PSG have been eliminated. Coupe de France Ro16 draw Toulouse (1) - Amiens (2) Strasbourg (1) - Monaco (1) Reims (2) - Le Mans (2) Nice (1) - Montpellier (2) Lyon (1) - Laval (2) Bayeux (6) or Marseille (1) (playing today) - Rennes (1) Lorient (1) - Paris FC (1) Troyes (2) - Lens (1) Matches will be held mid-week on February 4-5-6
I didn't see it but the line-up I saw (BBC) had him at RM in a 4-3-3 OL news confirms: Summary On Sunday evening, LOSC welcomed Olympique Lyonnais for this Coupe de France round-of-32 showdown. Our coach opted for a 4-3-3, with Rémy Descamps back in goal. The Mata–Kluivert pairing was once again trusted, supported by Tagliafico and Maitland-Niles on the flanks. In midfield, Corentin Tolisso was joined by Tanner Tessmann and Tyler Morton. Up front, Endrick led the line, supported by Moreira and Šulc on the wings. Also GFFN (get french football news) gave him Tanner Tessmann – 6 please subscribe to my newletter - stuff freisland finds on line to avoid work - thank you
Lyon (T-5th, but 4th with a win) is hosting Brest (T-9th), in the sort of match Lyon must win to keep pace in the annual Ligue 1 chase for CL placement.
Tessmann starts! Lyon visiting Young Boys in Europa League action. Finished 0-1 Lyon, who are tied for first (six wins, one loss) with Aston Villa, Lyon ahead on GD. Tessmann played the full match. Next up are the not-so-amazing last-place Metz, in Ligue 1 action, then Lyon host PAOK to conclude Europa League league play next Thursday.
Tessmann was active in central midfield. He got forward several times; he got free for a shot just outside the box, but hit it at the gk, a header over the bar, and then a hard strike that went high, but appeared to deflect off a defender’s arm on replay. Lyon now sits in first place in the Europa League table.
Tessmann starts and Lyon take an early 1-0 lead - long ball over the top brillitantly settled by Tolisso, who keeps composure and finds new teammate Endrick sprinting to the six. Endrick then finishes nicely first time. Playing Metz, who may be firming up their last place position today.
Ends a 5-2 win that was never in doubt, with Endrick getting a hat trick. Tessmann 7/9 on duels and eight defensive contributions, playing the whole match. Conceded more possession than was probably necessary.
On the bench for the final Europa game. Lyon already clinched top 8 for the R18. Give our boy a little rest.
