Jesus, where did that come from? I don't follow Serie A that closely (everyone say "obviously") but since they were, as usual, doing well in the Conference League, I assumed things were going fairly OK. They've already sacked one coach and with no new manager-bounce, the replacement is said to be under serious pressure. Fiorentina are quite a bit richer than OL and being 8 points from safety, they'll spend lavishly (high transfer fees, massive salaries) to bolster the squad in this window but no. they're not a good destination at all. That said, even in the best of circumstances an OL that's in the EL every season is a better shop window than a Fiorentina that can't break out of the Conference and these are not the best of circumstances for the Violets
Depends on how you define it. By spending a lot of money or by being able to afford to spend a lot of money? I imagine what they spend on salaries is roughly the same.
Moise Kean has 2 goals on 8 xG. If he was finishing at even a vaguely competent level, they'd be fine.
Kean is an average player who had one good season.. I don't trust him. On paper they should be much higher but doubt is creeping in.
According to capology, sofascore, etc. their payroll spend is about 20% higher than OL's; base figures of circa €65m versus €55m. It's not surprising, given the financial disparity between the two leagues, especially their TV deals
The doubt is usually fatal, which explains why Vanoli (not a very good coach but one capable of getting a bounce out of a dressing room) has had zero impact. A team that's 8 points from safety after 15 games is in a world of trouble.
“Bonne nouvelle, Tanner Tessmann et Orel Mangala réintègrent le groupe après leur blessure.“ Good news, Tanner Tessmann and Orel Mangala are rejoining the squad after their injuries.
Equipe is linking Tanner to a move to the English Premier League. Pretty cool turn of events.. the move to Lyon seemed like a weird deadline day cheap addition and I was skeptical it would work out but it has masterfully
So many rumors. I don't see him moving until after the WC if at all. Why take a chance on losing your (possible) spot by not playing while adjusting to a tougher league?
Not to mention moving to a better EPL side after the WC. If he thinks he has a change of getting starts or at least substantial PT in the summer, he should hold fire on a move. I can't see him having any problems at all physically, but the pace of the EPL will take some getting used to. Lyon are top of the EL table and decently-placed in the league. No sense in moving in a hurry
I like following Tessmann at Lyon and I think it's great he's earned a spot there. I agree with everyone and hope he waits until next summer to push on. The counter to that though is sometimes a club like _________ [insert EPL club] only comes knocking once and it's difficult to pass up. He could suffer an injury/dip in form between now and next summer and an EPL club will give him a 4 or maybe even 5 year deal and double or triple his wages in January. And you know, a January move might work out just fine...the fee would be substantial and his new club would likely be looking to play him...…. that's also a possibility. Wolves or Burnley? Yea probably turning that down out of hand.. even with the increased wages... Manchester United? Dysfunctional but a dream for a lot of people...who knows.
There's some chatter about Everton, which would be very interesting - new owners, massive stadium, experienced coach, new money for academy, etc. It's just chatter, but it would be attractive.
Wait, I think I figured it out. Forests produce tannins, and tanners use tannins to chemically transform animal hides into leather. Amirite? I'm sensing lame thread title suggestions coming for a non-rumor, and something that won't happen, that will have to be explained to nearly everyone.
