He was also famous for being a huge pain in the ass of the big clubs, who all hated him, but dealt with him because he repped the best players. I think his biggest bag was allegedly getting ~25% of Pogba's $100m+ move from Juve to United. That's what Tessmann's agents are trying to emulate, except the two clubs are Venezia and Fiorentina and the player is Tanner Tessmann.
I suspect…strongly…that that transfer happened before the ban on 3rd party ownership went into effect Let’s say Tessmann and Venetia’s owner hop in the car, drive to fiorintina with his registration in hand and say let’s do this now. Who could his agent sue and possibly win damages? Fiorintina? Not a chance Venezia? Only if a sell on clause exists. Tessmann? Rights to proceeds from a transfer fee were not his to give.
It did not, the ban on 3rd party ownership took effect May of 2015, and Pogba's move to ManU took place in the summer of 2016. However, that did not stop Raiola from claiming that 3rd party ownership may have been part of the reason Pogba's fee was so absurdly high. That said, it would be super weird if that were the case, as Raiola, somewhat infamously, represented all three sides involved in that deal according to details made public by the "Football Leaks".
He was infamous for ensuring that many of his clients never stayed at a club more than a few seasons. He worked with some clubs very closely and was admired, he was hated by other clubs. Fergie said he would never deal with him as long as he was at ManU. Raiola was known for getting high fees for his clients, and high fees for himself.
I’m convinced guys like that were helping someone launder money. Those deals were too wasteful otherwise.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, now that Fiorentina has closed on Richarson, they have decided they will no longer pursue Tessmann. https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/ser...lub-viola-abbandona-la-pista-tessmann-1998500
This says Fiorentina have officially walked away from Tessmann due to his agent’s demands. It claims the Richardson deal with Reims was put in motion *the next day*.https://t.co/Xa8QqSIbxJ— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) August 9, 2024
Wow. It's still weird to me this is not reported at all in English language, not even the usual "cut and paste click bait" spots. Google gives 4 pages of results in the past 24 hrs. But none in English. Very strange. Be nice for someone to get Tessmann's word on this first hand.
Fiorentina would of been a nice move up. Richardson same profile so not surprising. Tanner agent cost him inter, now viola. Pretty spectacular arrogance and failure. Maybe it will celtic after all?? Depressing
I think the tweet is a bad summary, the article actually says that Fiorentina decided to stop pursuing Tessmann AFTER the Richardson deal was finalized. Alfredo Pedulla's reporting is that no one has confirmed that Fiorentina are done with Tessmann, but that there hasn't been any communication between Fiorentina and Tessmann's camp, so Tessmann is "waiting". According to him, everything is set, but Fiorentina might pass because they're frustrated with Tessmann's agents.
lmao, Besiktas just announced plans to purchase a 6 and an 8 through one of their journalists, so the Tessmann tag on twitter is filled with "Welcome to Besiktas" posts
Believe me, I get it, but there had been English-language sites cut-n-pasting news of the pending transfer and even of the Inter collapse. Just seems odd to me there's just 0 bothering to cut-n-paste the Florence collapse. Maybe cause the Olympics are over. Usually lazy "news" sites at least go to the "trouble" to scrape others work - and there's easily 3-4 pages of "news" on this in Italian. Just find it interesting - and since there is nothing else to comment on in the world of Tessmann till we learn more about this situation... here we are.
I imagine there was a lot more noise in English for the inter saga….because it was Inter. The eight non-bilingual English speakers outside of Italy that give a shit about Fiorantina probably have a group chat.
The Fabrizio Romano of this particular story is @Scotty who is in the old country, boots on the ground, giving USMNT fans a direct translation from the regions papers while he sips on his morning espresso and enjoys his cornetto. Given the time difference, updates are on this board you have it first thing in the AM.
We do! Of course - and Inter has a better footprint on social media (and more followers.) Still surprises me no one is bothering to google translate and post one of the many Italian language "articles" on the Tessmann non-deal. Although it also sounds like no one knows if it's "really" off the table, even in Italian.
Lol what a mess. Talk about completely mishandling what appeared to be very serious interest from multiple clubs.
