A couple of articles in Italian today. This is a kind of frothy survey of Tessman's career to date. Very complimentary; apparently Tanner gave up a "brilliant" career in Murican Football... Reads like it was written by his mom. https://www.sportmediaset.mediaset....cinato-il-venezia-in-a_83782710-202402k.shtml "The Venezia director is a market man and multitasking talent. Before Serie A he gave up a brilliant career in American football."
Obviously. Everyone wants to be the FG kicker until there's a second on the clock and you are down by two. However, at that very moment, the punter is thinking about where to get dinner.
Update on #USMNT and Venezia midfielder Tanner Tessman.Nearly two dozen clubs have reached out about the midfielder. Playing time a huge factor.Source says that Parma, Fiorentina, Atalanta and Inter are the four most serious takers at this point. #SerieA— Kristian Dyer (@KristianRDyer) June 21, 2024 One of the hottest YA commodities we've had in awhile as far as I can tell. Was surprised when he didn't move on last summer. The price has gone up considerably probably factoring in wages.
I’ve come to believe that playing on a good team relative to one’s competition is pretty important for development. Playing time is obviously important as well. Given that, I think if a club playing in Europe next season wants to bring him in as a rotational option, that would be ideal. Something similar to Musah’s past season. I’d rather him be in a situation like that than to try to help keep a bad team up, or the expectation that he play a big role in keeping a mid table team out of a relegation fight.
How Tanner isn't on gold cup roster is hilarious. Apparently a soccer brain isn't a positive for Greg.
We are all YA fans and want to see Tanner succeed. The “I was the biggest fan the earliest” type comments are so tiresome.
To be fair nobody looks good the first time out under Gregg's system. Johnny looked shit, still not great, though he has gotten better. Tillman, the number 10 for the best Dutch team in like 50 years looks shit with the national team. Balogun looks shit. Its what Gregg does. Takes good players and makes them lesser.

A piece stating that Como is now an interested suitor as well, along with Parma and Inter. However, all three are finding Tessmann's salary demands to be too high: https://www.parmalive.com/primo-pia...e-richieste-d-ingaggio-frenano-l-inter-222956
A good deal more than that IMO He signed a 4-year deal for a reported €3.64 million, which suggests something in the region of €8-900k. No way he's on anything less than €750k
The big Italian clubs pay their stars well. If making money is his concern, he needs to prove himself at that level, and he will get the money he wants on his second contract, or get a transfer to a club in another country.
