Don't be a repetitive, bitchy nonce.

Pro/rel is a relic of a completely different set of initial conditions and a completely different set of cultures. It is not a moral imperative.

    Stop whining, whiner.

As I said about Garber's comments....

"It was decidedly mean spirited and meant to belittle and ridicule, much like what the anti-Pro/Rel crowd on this forum engages in on a regular basis."

Thanks for proving my point. :)

Of course, if I said it, you'd think it was horrible.

As I said about Garber's comments....

    Well, you are Welsh...

Certainly not me. I like it. It has no place here, and increasingly is less and less relevant in the big Euro leagues, but let's not let that get in the way of the narrative.

    Dunno... ask the trolls.

Honestly, I'd like to have a reasonably civil discussion about how problematic it would be for Chattanooga FC (and my Tulsa Athletics) to "play their way" into the NASL, let alone MLS under Pro/Rel, which is why myself (and El Conductor, who I believe hasn't posted on bigsoccer for over a year now) would say that any offer of promotion would have to be optional. If you don't want promotion, you can decline... but then you have to tell your fans why or why not, and tell your corporate sponsors, etc... it'd certainly be an interesting conversation to have.

    Pity some just wanna troll.

    You are.
You think it's okay for Europe, but ridicule and insult anybody who wants it here.
If you weren't anti-Pro/Rel, you'd stop insulting at every turn.
You'd actually allow people like me to have a reasonable discussion about how it could work in the US... but you can't.
You'd rather drone on and on about how my city stole Team Hawaii in 1977... trying to press my buttons every damned chance you get.

    Troll.

Pro/Rel is a fine concept. Have seen my team promoted 5 times maybe and relegated about the same. Still doesn't change the fact that it isn't practical here for the foreseeable future.

I had completely forgotten that Tulsa stole Hawaii. Thanks for the reminder. Now Tulsa can't afford to steal a team you are suddenly convinced by pro/rel.....

Erm ... Buc is absolutely there ... and yes, Whataburger Field CAN host soccer ... but at 75oo capacity it ain't really an option (as well as them likely not really wanting to share the ground all too much). Hell, the Corpus Christi Fuel (the actual NPSL team) played out in Robstown at their Fairgrounds baseball field. Of course, hosting an exhibition between the State's two MLS clubs, and housing a lower level soccer club are two different things.

You're arguing against and criticizing the approach that is currently building SSS and top tier facilities in favor of the approach that has clubs playing in non SSS whether they be re-purposed/shared/whatever.

    That's exactly what that says.

You want to de-emphasize the current approach in favor of a different one.

That is exactly what you're saying.

Like Orlando? Portland? Vancouver? Houston? NYC?

Why NOT do it simultaneously like in ATL if it can be? (not soccer specific but the stadium is certainly a key part of them getting a franchise)

Like NE has? Or DCU found so easily to do?

Of course, you're just assuming you'll ever be big enough or important enough or that the land is there/will always be .... etc etc etc

... and why not? You, yourself, use extreme examples to try and prove a point.

.... which is part of the point.

.... or at Clarke which certainly fits the bill he was pointing at. Al Lang ain't much better .... As with everything you poo poo, there's much more truth to it than you'll ever admit.

    THERE IT IS ...

People were better/smarter at business .... that isn't THEIR fault.

    Which is nobody's fault, but Tulsa's ...

Yet we got one ... NASL level even ... without the plans in place.

And I wish people would stop trying to do that ... you know, popping off about pro/rel as though we've got the horses to pull it.

... and given that twenty year presence AND THE ISSUES STILL THERE ... your point about gaining presence and growing in the community is pretty much shot to shit. NE's situation ain't any better really (they just don't eat it in rent), it took how long in KC again, and SJ had to be relocated and re-granted a franchise and it STILL took how long?

    yeeaaaaaahhhh

Especially when you do it under the guise of 'really guyz i wanna discuss but you all just trollalalalalalalallalaaaaa'

How can he be anti pro/rel if he thinks it's ok ...?

when you actually make that attempt ... you'd be amazed at what would happen ... IN FACT, in my very first dealings with you I made that attempt ... yet here we are.

But yes, this is what you do ... troll, spew the same rhetoric, refuse to substantiate anything, dismiss facts and evidence provided that don't line up with your narrative, play martyr, practice the do as I say not as I do bit, make e-threats like douche, and generally just act an ass.

Funny, I've had plenty of civil discussion with the likes of RichardL, Achowat, and Owain ... for example, and we are often on opposing sides of opinions/discussions.

YOU ARE THE COMMON DENOMINATOR <---
