    The goods on Kaka....special?

Hey crew, I'd like some knowledgeable assessments of Kaka. I've seen him play around 15 times for SP over the last two seasons, as well as all of his games with the under-23 selecao this past month. He's good, but I can't tell if he's "special."

I'm just saying that so far he hasn't shown me the kind of special I recognized the first time I saw Ronaldinho Gaucho play live at 17. The kind of special that makes you get a chill up your spine.

IMO, he's good running at people, but average one-on-one in short spaces. He's very good in the one-twos (tabelas), but I haven't been impressed with his medium range passing. He's got a good right foot shot (not deadly), an average left, and is very average on his heading. He's strong, and seems very strong minded as well. He has very good vision as well, but not Gaucho or Diego vision. Without a doubt a good player who will do well on a good European team, or a talented Selecao, but still......

He didn't look special at all in the recent sub-23. For a guy who supposedly was the dominant player in the Brasileiro, the competition he was facing was decidedly weaker. No matter what the team around him, he should have distinguished himself. I didn't see it (no matter how pro-Kaka the SBT reporters seemed; any decent move and it was like "Kaka for President").

Don't get me wrong, I believe he will continue to get better and know that on a good team he will shine, but is he special?

What am I missing? Why are Pareirra and Tostao falling all over themselves over him? Enlighten me.

? No. Saw them live on tv. Why? Is there a particular play(s) you want to refer to. I can remember the jist of most of the games.

No friend. I collect videos of Brazil's games. My Brazilian contact did the first game but buggered up the second (and with me it is everything or nothing!). Thanks for the offer of reciting some of the action. Dennis

Thanks for the sarcasm......my assumption was that you wanted to discuss the finer points of Kaka's game based on analysis of his under-23 matches. How could I have been so wrong?

If you want videos these guys keep a comprehensive and up-to-date collection: http://www.futebolemvideo.cjb.net/

Hold on, friend! I was not being sarcastic at all. It was a kind offer and all respect to you. Apologies that my posting caused offence. What I can make of it, Kaka kind of carried the team. Did anyone else perform well on a game to game basis? Ricardo Gomes said he has the base of the team already.

You've mentioned his main qualities ie. running with the ball, 1,2's and scoring - he reminds me of Ronaldo but comes from a deeper position, is he the
real deal?...I dunno...time will tell, the potentials there.

Composure. He is a very confident player. He just doesn't have the experience inthe internation game/what other players abroad have obtained - mainly because of his lack of experience.

Time will tell how much he will develop and what type of player he will become. But to me, what impresses me is his composure on the ball. However I think he may be the type of player that will rise to the level of those around him. Which is a good thing (think of his full teammates on teh Selecao) and a bad thing (think of some of his teammates at Sao Paulo).

He's out with a fracture on his right thigh and did not even start on the bench on yesterday's decision of the Paulistão.

    Caca-Information?

I've heard about this kid but don't really know that much other than he's a good youngster tipped for success at the Olympics.
    Can anyone help me?
    Age?
    Club?
    How good is he actually?
What's all the fuss about? I've heard that the ladies of Brazil like him, is this why he's so famous?
    Thanks a lot

    Re: Caca-Information?

    You mean Kaka
I don't think you mean the other Caca since he is not so famous.
But Kaka is famous for his talent, young and all will play soon in Europe for sure.
I don't think he will play in olympics he is already in the list with the "A" team i think.

Disagree. Kaka will probably be with Olympic team. There will be a little more pressure on Brazil after the disappointing 2000 games where they lost to 9 man Cameroon. Remember, that was Luxemburgo's final chapter of mediocrity as he was widely criticized for not bringing Romario - or any of the allowed over 22 yr' old players.

AC Milan, PSG and ManU fight for Kaká

It's been reported that São Paulo already refused an U$8 million bid for Kaká. So who will probably take him?

I hope Man Yoo gets Kaka and Kleberson, A Mlian would be my second AC, last would be PSG because there i don't see him getting too much better, at AC he wouldnt get too much playing time, and at Man Yoo how things are shaping up with Beckham gone and Veron might be on his way he could be in the starting lineup.

I think it's already time for him to move elsewhere. Why care about such fans?

    deal done?

    http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/p3466.html

Why would Milan be insisting so much to purchase him if they are already thinking on a loan to PSG? Doesn't he even have a place in the bench? If not why bother?

    Re: deal done?

With Pirlo, Rui Costa, and Rivaldo on Milan's books, Kaka would have a hard time getting minutes this year. Next year Rui Costa and Rivaldo will both most likely be gone. So Milan bought him now with the intention that he will replace Rui and Rivaldo next year. There still is a chance that he could play this year with Milan. But that is only if a club wants to take Rivaldo off Milan's hands. But as of yet no offer has been made.

No mention about a loan to PSG. So looks like he'll be a starter for Milan, or at least be in the bench.
