    Nah, it was good.

And a good move for Altidore, if it goes through.

Of course, now, Trabzon players will give him special attention.

As to "black players not wanting to go to Turkey", Mamadou Niang is begging to be sold to Fenerbahce (€2.5M/net in wages can be mighty convincing).

Goal may have a source on this, but the Spanish papers have nothing on his going to Besiktas. Could make an interesting Ceramic Trophy this weekend.

I have to doubt this because of his latest tweet:

    Besiktas is coming to him!

Good title -- timely, Jozy is from NJ, and loves to party in Miami.

Turkey has a rule limiting the number of foreigners in each team's starting lineup and gameday roster - each team is allowed up to 6 foreigners in the starting lineup and 2 more foreigners on the bench, who can only replace other foreigners in the lineup. And Besiktas already have a ton of starting quality foreigners in their roster.

Between Fabian Ernst, Guti, Matias Delgado, Ricardo Quaresma, and Roberto Hilbert, there is a good chance that their entire midfield will be composed of foreigners. And at least one of their center-backs will be a foreigner too (likely Czech international Tomas Sivok). Which means that if Besiktas go with a two forward formation, one of the forwards is almost guaranteed to be a Turkish player (likely Nihat Kahveci).

That might limit Altidore's starting opportunities if he ends up Besiktas, although I don't think he'd be projected as a starter right off the bat anyways there.

I think they play 4-4-1-1 with Nihat or Tello beind the striker

Based on their last Europa League qualifier, I'd expect their lineup to be something like this:

    Guven--Sivok--Toraman--Uzulmez
    Hilbert----Ernst--Guti---Quaresma
    ------------Nihat----------------
    --------------?------------------

Matteo Ferrari and Michael Fink who were regular starters last season are apparently on their way out now, so I didn't count them.

Looks like they played 4-1-3-2 last time out in the CL, but probably only because they played a Czech team I've never heard of, with Nihat next to Bobo/ Marcio Nobre.

Not sure how this is going to work out...it will be hard to go from booing Guti to hoping Jozy slots in his killer pass...can you love a goal and hate the assist?

But if Guti puts Jozy in situations to score...which Guti will...then maybe...MAYBE...I can come to terms with it... :p

That's interesting, because Jozy wasn't listed there a couple of days ago.

I dont get it, Altidore is good enough to start every game for USMNT, but not good enough for Villareal? Come on give me a break, what is wrong with these spaniards

    (Not just you, Jav7)

Villarreal (or VCF -- and not Villa)

really? You want to go THERE?

Just take a look at the other forwards on their roster and it will give you an idea why he's probably the 3 or 4 option... Starting for the USMNT at striker is probably easier than starting for a competitive primera team like Villareal, but maybe that's just my opinion. We really don't have many incredibly options at the 9 for USMNT

But I really wanted to say that I hope this works out for JOZY.

I think why not? Playing for villareal and coming off the bench for a year might not be such a bad thing. Might be more of a learning experience at this point than playing for a struggling, relegated bound EPL team.. Especially when you're in training with some studs...

oh and obviously I don't think he's going anywhere. If they just put him up on the Website, my guess is they're planning on keeping him around. He probably bolts in January if he gets some playing time and plays well

Meh, I agree with that other dude. Spanish teams usually come up against physical teams that cant match them for skill, but they cant match the physical side. Jozy is a perfect striker to keep around for the CL or the EL so you can bang bodies in there.

THe lack of different style of play has haunted spanish teams. Fulham for example had no business being int he match with A. Madrid if you look at the skill levels, but with the right tactic they were able to take it to the last 3minutes.
