Nice job by the guys in the Mezzanine section with Wolyniec t-shirts starting "Let's Go Metros" and "Wolyniec" chants, getting the other fans involved. As soon as the 2nd half started they really got into it. I'm still waiting for the Fabian Taylor Fan Club.
They're Woly's boys from Staten Island. They're loud and they love their guy, and his diving header gave them something to celebrate.
I noticed that "The John Wolyniec Fan Club" was listed along with the visiting clubs and whatnot. I almost started to laugh.
Both times Fabian scored ESPN showed these two folks waving these huge ass jamacian flags with Bob Marley superimposed on them. Funny stuff.
What happens when you've got Magee, Taylor, Wolyniec, Galvan and Glenn competing for two spots? That's an embarrassment of riches-all of them could be starting in the league. I think you should trade one of them--maybe Magee--to get more defensive cover, since you're all set in midfield, up top, and in goal.
The trading deadline isnt for a few months. I suspect Bob will trade one of them if he has to, but there is no reason to trade right now.
of course keep magee. after all he is still young. He scored at a decent rate for a rookie last year and this year i would expect no different. also keep him becuase as someone posted earlier he, meaning magee, isnt exactly a budget burden.
Never say "too many good players" for a team. What if God forbid one of them got injuried or got into a draught spell? what if Metro needs to play two games in a week? If Metro wants to be the best team in MLS, we need to keep all the good players even if one of them does not get chance to be in the starting 11.
This is what happens: - You get two games in a row where 3 goals were scored. - You have talented strikers competing for starting spots, thus scoring more goals.
Magee is just a little bit over rated, yea he been getting his playing time and scored some important goals, but when u look at him play he just doesnt look proffesional yet....he just got out of college he still got alot to learn, especially comparing to the expirience of Taylor and Rey
You must mean that he just got out of High School. The fact that Magee is still a kid, means that he will improve and get better if he has the pressure of competition on him. If we trade Magee now, we may regret it later when some of this year's "star strikers" look for contracts overseas.
I dont have problem trading Magee. Is he fast? Is he strong? Is he strong in the air? Is he a good finisher? I would be surprise if Fabian doesn't start next week. Unlike Fabian, Magee depends on his right work. Good finisher needs to strike the ball with both feet. Yeah he's young and cheap so I guess we shouldn't trade him. Btw, it seem like all MLS teams are loaded up front and need defensive help. Don't you think?
i was with the john wolyniec crew in the mezzanine, i mean not with them, but i was watching nd singing along with them , and screaming at these guys decked out in El Salvador gear waiting for Cerritos to come on. nd i bet the El Salvvador cats were from Jersey, i hate that ******** man... home team not home country playing for a different team retards
Sure, go ahead and trade Magee. Then when Taylor's called up for Jamaican national team duty and Galvan or Woly is injured, we're down to two strikers on the roster. We've won two games in a row to start the season and haven't even seen two of our new strikers, and you want to trade away a young, cheap, reliable forward with promise already?
It sounds like Taylor could be headed to Europe at the end of the summer and who knows how long Galvan Rey will last? If we traded away magee that would leave us with only Glenn and Woly in a year or two. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush or whatever. We have great strikers and our defense isn't bad, so why risk changing things while we are playing well?
Man Utd Forwards roster: Christiano Ronaldo Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Ruud Van Nistellroij Diego Forlan Louis Saha David Bellion Yeah, maybe Sir Alex should think of selling one, after all, they have too many good strikers. . .
Did he really have to dive for that ball? I thought he could just as easily gotten a foot on it to finish.
as much as we all love him, we all know that hez capable of kicking it over the goals if he went with his foot
I was at the game on Saturday and the real story is John Wolyniec. This guy came from nowhere last year and now is on pace for a 30 goal season. He is on a mission this year and that diving header proved it. Good job to the rowdy Metro fans chanting "Wolyniec" in the upper deck - Who are those guys ? The Metros are a force to be reckoned with in the MLS this year. If Johnny Walker can tighten up the defense with Pope and Parke we will win a championship. There is more than enough talent with Taylor, Wolyniec, Gavin, & Guevara.
Our boy John hold's EVERY offensive record at Fordham University. Both all-time and single season. http://www.fordhamsports.com/RecordBook/MensSoccer/msocrec3.pdf Maybe we should learn the fight song? Fordham "Fordham Ram" Hail! men of Fordham, hail! on to the fray! Once more our foes assail in strong array. Once more the old Maroon, waves on high We'll sing our battle song. We do or die. With a Ram, a Ram, a Ram for victory With a Ram, a Ram, a Ram for loyalty. To the fight, to fight, To win our laurels bright! Hail! men of Fordham, hail! on to the fray! Once more our foes assail in strong array. Once more the old Maroon, waves on high We'll sing our battle song. We do or die.
