Not sure what you're talking about. My post was in reference to an exchange I had earlier with someone in another thread who claimed to be a POC but may not support the survival of POCs with his vote if they make Biden drop out.

 

My point was more to anybody saying things out loud, mainly the guy in the Axios article. The need to be soldiers and not bed shitters. Sya Joe is fine and push back on any story that says different.

The interesting thing about this thread is it points out how bad Biden has been as a President. He ran to unite the country and what has happened? The Republican party that was divided and had never Trumpers & Rinos when he won office, is now more united than ever. The Democrat party four years later is the most divided I have ever seen. Not only has Biden not united the country but he's divided his own party.

 

At least now Biden will be the candidate, because who would jump in now? You think he gets that 90 million that they were going to withhold?

 

On a positive note, a lot of far right Republicans are convinced she’s actually a man, so maybe they’d be more willing to vote for him?

Biden didn’t divide the country or his party any more than he affected gas prices. All that was baked in to the current trajectory of this country and the shithole that is social media and its algorithm-rooted worldviews.

I understand what you're saying, (and, more particularly, why you're saying it), but I don't think it's plausible to try and carry the line that, 'Joe's fine', when pretty much everyone can see there's an issue there.

It's a bit like that film, 'Don't look up' where they told people not to look at the sky in case they saw the giant space rock about to wipe out the earth and everything on it or, more famously, the old story about the emperors clothes.

I think it would be better to accept it and say he's lost a step, (even though he's always been liable to do stuff like that as I've said), but he's surrounded by good people who have done a great job and rely on his record which is a good one and not the fantasy land nonsense version the GOP want to push.

I think simply saying 'Nothing to see here... move along', is unlikely to be successful. People will see it as insulting their intelligence, (albeit accurately with many of them it has to be said).

 

It also decreases confidence and trust in people when they lie to our faces. That's never a good strategy.

 

It worked for republicans. This idea that you can soft-footed and say well he's not as strong as he used to be, no! you can't give them anything. This is why Democrats lose because they think you can talk it out. Sometimes you just have to take a play out of the opposing playbook. Despite everything that happened with Trump everybody in the Republican party was unified and saying it is not a problem. You say it long enough, the press stops pushing but Democrats always crumble and the Press knows that. That's why they went digging for stories and you will always get it because all they ever do is crumble. If you don't want to be viewed as a bunch of soft cocks then stop doing soft cock things.

 

The Democrat base is not the Republican base. Republicans, thanks to their religion, are groomed from a very early age not to question their authority/leaders. Democrats are very much the opposite.

The idea that we should put up an extremely flawed candidate and pretend he isn't flawed in order to fool them is ... foolish.

And sometimes when you play by their rules it gives them the advantage. Imagine if you have a game between a Rugby Union team and a League team, but you have to play by the rules of Union. One of those teams has a definite advantage.

Yes, the Press will. You say it was a bad debate performance and who is as fast as they use to be 4 years ago but he is fine and best candidate for president. If the leaders of the party don't believe they're going to win how do you get turnout?
