There’s the ACLU. There’s also FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression) You might not be trolling but you are relying heavily on MAGA talking points, so I’m not inclined to take your last several posts in this thread very seriously.
Only when they’re clubbing the right people upside the head. When they enforce the law against my people, then they’re violating civil rights. The right to disobey laws that are clearly meant for social inferiors is a Constitutional right. Or will be, before the Roberts court is finished.
You can be a total idiot as far as the intellect and knowledge goes and still be skilled at the low cunning necessary to manipulate fellow idiots.
Sure, friend. However, my vote counts as much as yours. I completely disagree on the counts of selfishness, arrogance or self awareness. Stupidity is still open for debate but per Socrates doubting your own intelligence is paramount. I am a bit amazed in how little you are willing to engage and how easily you resorted to name-calling.
Like I said, when reviewing the MAGA rebuttal of Democratic talking points I found that there was meat on the bone. I am here to explain why I did not vote for Harris even though I was never voting for Trump. You should certainly take seriously why and how I voted since the Democrats lost. Edit: I am an occasional donor to the EFF.
I have long been a proponent of limiting policing. The truth is that there are so many laws that all of us are plausibly liable for police attention.
sorry, but no. When you wrote (paraphrase) there were FBI informants among the January Sixth rioters, it’s clear you are making the categorical error that Marjorie Taylor Green wanted you to make when she first floated that balloon around January 9th. She wants you to think the fact that the FBI had informants means that the FBI instigated (see how similar those words are? MTG wants you to not notice that) and orchestrated the event. That’s not true. Donald Trump did that. In real time. Well, he ginned up a mob and let it take its course. I don’t think Trump had any plans beyond that one that was thwarted when Mike Pence decided to be an American citizen first, and not a tool of Trump’s personal corruption.
Wait....WHAT??? Waltz? The nominee for VP? So you were OK letting a fascist take power because of his 1A stance??? Like which ones? Freedom of religion? GOP wants to turn this into a Christian nation. They even said they want a Christianity test for Gov employees. Or Freedom of the press, where Trump wants to punish, fine or take away press licenses because they are unfair to him. Or is it freedom of speech, where Trump, again, Trump wants to silence those that oppose him because he believes a dictator deserves nothing but respect while FOX, Sinclair Media, Newsmax, OANN, right wing podcasts/talk radio and now Twitter spread misinformation to millions of Americans, including your wife. You were OK with this so you didn't vote for Harris? Did I miss anything? It was Waltz, the nominee for VP. FOR VP? Have you heard Vance and his vision of Handmaids Tale? That's the other guys running mate.
I mean, I think it's shitty, but I also don't really care. Kind of how I felt about Hunter getting prosecuted in the first place.
50% of the voting Americans decided that the justice system should not be fair and equal for all. Who is Joe Biden to disagree? I do think pardoning your relatives is wrong in normal times, but the problem is there is absolutely no trust that Trump's DOJ won't behave as Trump's personal police. Yes, Hunter Biden should be punished for his misdeeds, but "punishment" does not include being tortured by MAGA until he is Joe's age.
Dude, you are spouting Alex Jones / MTG conspiracy theories and you do not even realize how ridiculous and stupid you sound. Bless your heart!
Are you aware that the 34 count conviction was the state of New York vs Donald Trump…not the United States vs Donald Trump? Do you know what that means? Do you understand the difference between crimes charged by the individual states and crimes charged by the federal government? Do you understand that when prosecutors present a case where they have evidence of you doing the same crime, over a period of months, a dozen times…that they charge you for each instance? Do you know why they do that? Do you know what a concurrent sentence is? Do you know why those are used? I ask these things because it appears that none of these things came up during your extensive and thorough research. And it makes you look incredibly uninformed. I am trying to find out if you are actually that uninformed, or you’re just grasping for things to justify your decision. But you made your decision. Feel free to post your personal experience in the face eating thread when it happens to you.
The worst part of this is surely he’s read Biden’s press release explaining his decision. This guy can go DIAF.
The thing is, Trump had a lot of help over the years to get where he is. New York media in the 80s along with the book The Art of the Deal, NBC and the reality TV boom (It seemed like there was a new reality show every 5 minutes back then), then the national media giving him coverage for his political forays every now and then. He's great at getting his name on things. He's an entertainer at heart, especially so given that he wanted to go into movies. Throw in the likes of Aileen Cannon helping out, along with the GOP being too cowardly and here we are. Without that, he's just another loudmouth rich guy who'd turn tail if he met someone who called him out. However, he's competent at being of low cunning. And given his experience dealing with shady types, he's not exactly afraid of much. Then there's his self promotion, but again, he's had a lot of media help since the 80s. I've mentioned before I've learned of him through a Spider-Man comic of all things. The other thing is I think few are too afraid (or incapable) to speak his language and get in the trenches. There's nothing scarier than someone who can prove that they can speak the language and aren't afraid. One of the things I liked about Biden in 2020? Him getting on Trump's nerves. Biden wasn't afraid of getting in the trenches. A younger Biden, the one who said that Giuliani was 9/11, a noun, and a verb, the one who threw Paul Ryan around rhetorically in 2012? That Biden would've won. A lot of criminals aren't that bright though. Coen Brothers movies demonstrate this. Trump ain't either. Cunning, sure, but he ain't bright. Just lucky.
The Republican Party needed someone with charm to lead their assault on democracy and they decided he was it. It will die with him, not sure if democracy will also.
For all the silly talk about Rogan of the left, I think we are seeing the damage of a decade or more of insane propaganda Q Style conspiracies have gone fairly mainstream
Yeah, that's pretty much my position as well. It's obviously not good and when it comes to members of the Trump crime family and associates getting charged, it will make it more difficult to complain but among all the other crap we'll be facing it's a bit of a non-story.
Well, they both start with the letters 'in' and for low information voters that's probably enough... but maybe the guy's just an idiot
Pundits and some sanctimonious democrats are all up in arms about this, yelling and screaming about norms. Irony is truly dead and they don’t even realize how absurd their arguments are. They all know way too well that the whole Hunter case only happens because his last name is Biden. They also know that there is no way he could have a fair trial with a Trump DOJ. But “norms”……SMFH The more I think about it, it is clear that it would have been completely crazy for Biden not to pardon him. Under any other circumstances, I am sure that would not have happened but with this incoming authoritarian crew, that was the proper thing to do.
