But... but the Supreme Court said that Presidents have immunity for stuff they do in office... oh never mind, that's how fascism works, it protects those guys over there but not these guys over here.

Well Biden was Vice President when the “Biden crime family” was in full swing. So… does the SC ruling protect Vice Presidents? I mean we know it’s kind of moot given they would almost certainly apply protections “selectively” anyway.

If I were the Bidens I'd be getting out of the country ASAP. Hell, I'm not the Bidens and I'm getting the hell out as it is.

What does annoy me is that Biden chose to use his power to do something constitutionally dubious for the benefit of his own son, instead of helping protect America from fascism.

This pardon is clearly wrong, of course, but all of it is absurd. For instance why was Bill Barr's DOJ investigating the son of a political rival in the first place?

I need to log off before i write anything about Merrick Garland!

What annoys me is that this ranks pretty low on the objectionable and dubious things that Biden has done -- and it doesn't even remotely measure up to the objectionable and dubious things that are coming with Trump.

Getting morally outraged about this is just a complete loss of perspective.

Hell, America voted for this kind of corruption. I can see holding Biden to account for his promise if he or Harris won, but we elected Trump.

With “Both parties”? Where is bullshit both sides coming from? Absolute nonsense. When did the dems use retaliatory court cases vs the other party? They can’t even go ahead with strong and legitimate legal cases.

    Yeah…ok.

You both sides are the same assholes are about to learn just how different both parties actually are. It’s just a shame you have to take the rest of us down your learning journey

If MAGA cult was never going to commend him for not pardoning his son, then he shouldn't give 2 fuks about what they think.

I suspect it won't be Biden, precisely because he will invoke his Counsel of Clerics immunity and it will all get very stupid very fast

IMO it's more line prosecutors people and political enemies at risk.

Like I would not be surprised if Liz Cheney is in the firing line. And Jack Smith's people. And New York DAs office.

You underestimate both how malleable decisions by the CoC will be as well as the power of the “Now let them Enforce Doctrine “ should they arrive at the incorrect decision

Lately it’s been not just against the outgoing party, but mainly against your rivals within your own party.

Meh, I can't be bothered with all the MAGA bleating about "norms and ethics" when they have routinely ripped a grumpy all over the rules whenever it suited them.

I mean it's not ideal that apparently anything goes and LOL nothing matters now but that is what the voters wanted, so Democrats might as well act accordingly.

I'm independent and I haven't cared to drill down on this. Per the right (also known as my wife) there are retaliatory aspects to the legal cases against Trump and I have to agree that there is a reasonable case to be made that this is so. There is also a reasonable case to be made that Trump is a Russian asset but in eight years there is no smoking gun. What is left is with a mess that can be interpreted any way per political viewpoint. Politically, this is a negative for the Dems. If you go after a president you need to absolutely nail down the proof and make the case open and shut. If you can't nail it down quickly then it looks retaliatory or incompetent.

I say this again and again to the Dems. You have a problem of presentation. You say Trump is an idiot and a crook. That bar is way, way too low and Trump can beat it by just not being an idiot. In the next breath you claim that you are the grownups but it just doesn't feel that way in any aspect. Biden and the dem leadership at the top have proven time and time again that they just aren't that good morally or strategically.
