I'm still trying to verify if he actually humped a rubber glove stuck between the cushions of a sofa.
The second link I provided quotes directly from his book. He told his grandma that he thought he was gay because he didn't like girls but did boys. She asked him if he "wants to suck dick". He said no, so she said he wasn't gay (as if all gay guys like performing oral sex). The big question for me is how old was he at the time? Certainly his anti-LGBT+ actions raise the usual questions: "Methinks the woman doth protest too much." I look forward to Randy Rainbow's inevitable video. edit: I see he said he was 8 or 9 at the time.
To add to this, I mentioned this here a few months ago and feel it’s a good time to mention again. And as a disclaimer I’m not a Swiftie and her music does nothing for me, but I believe her social/political stances are authentic. I watched her documentary Miss Americana when I ran out of things to watch during the height of the pandemic and was pleasantly surprised at its substance. The most powerful scene to me is when she’s talking to her parents and manager about her decision to publicly support LGBTQ rights/oppose Republicans (mainly Marsha Blackburn). I believe this is in the lead up to the 2018 midterms but it’s been a while and I’m fuzzy on details. But her manager and her dad are both arguing against this, saying it could cost her her career and more. She’s very emotional and basically argues that she can’t look herself in the mirror if she were to turn her back on people who have been instrumental in building her career, whom she considers close friends and family. Yes, she was born wealthy and is now one of the most powerful people on earth, and has flaws. But her political stances are honest and her causes are something she is deeply connected to and she has every right to use her platform to advocate for people far less powerful. I recommend at least skimming through the Wikipedia page for her film as it goes into some detail about her and her social/political beliefs. It reinforces why I am a fan of her as a human being who used her powerful position for good. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Americana
Here's Who's Winning In Latest Trump-Harris Presidential Polls (forbes.com) Exclusive: Harris leads Trump 44% to 42% in US presidential race, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds | Reuters I'd like to think the country is growing sick of trump and all his trumpy maga bullshit, project 2025 and all that stupid nonsense. Its early days for Kamala and 3.5 months looks like an eternity in this, the most nail biting, edge-of-your-seat election year but the polls are shifting a little and all of a sudden this feels different, and, dare I say, a little more hopeful.

Post #2797. Here's the link to the article. Here's part of what JD wrote: edit: rereading it I see he does put his age at the time.
No, this is not a good take. Of course it was juicy and since the MAGATs are so insane, sounded even plausible. But we shouldn't be trading, and glorying, in lies and innuendo. I passed that lie along to a pair of friends who had actually read the book, and with such certainty, that it made them doubt their memories. Let Trumpists traffic in lies. We have to be better.
I knew I was straight at the very least when I was 8, having dreams of kissing and sleeping* with girls at that age. (This is accurately dated because it was a girl I first met in my 3rd grade class.) Despite many efforts to convince me otherwise, I haven’t been able to make the leap to the “other side.” *literally sleeping in the same bed and kissing. Had very little idea at the time of what else was in store.
He said that back in April. And we need to be careful about assuming stuff like this is current...or even real. Here's the speech: https://www.c-span.org/video/?535146-1/president-biden-speaks-2024-nabtu-conference
Yeah, agree. And it fits with the right's diminishing university education, specifically for that of Black people.
Yeh, that was always the main drawback of Biden pulling out so late. A lot of that was bad timing (it was the worse 6-month period for him to suddenly age by 6 years), but the Dems should have still seen this coming a year ago. Though generally speaking, I love the idea of having no idea who a major party's candidate is going to be until ~110 days before the election. The usual 16-month campaigning period is way over the top.
This. She's got a few head bobbers for me, but I don't really listen to her music (I have 1989 somewhere on my computer, but have never even opened that file). Yet, for all the ways she come across as protecting her image, some of the things she does, like her support of LGBTQ+, is not image-conscious. I'm also thinking of how she had to fight for the rights to some of her music, and how she was in the same boat as many other female musicians. And she openly said she knew that she was fortunate because of her fame/success that she could go fight that fight and have a chance to win.
I just checked - those pages don't include those statements. a quick search in the document doesn't turn up that statement about adoption either (emphasis on quick search).
Decent analysis IMO. That said, he focuses too much on Beshar neutralizing Vance in Appalachia and I don't think she needs a Veep candidate to help her do that. I haven't seen Vance on TV/video since Hillbilly Elegy was top of the charts and boy oh boy, has moving into politics shown his lack of product development skills. She needs to let Vance rip, unopposed all across America. Vance on the ballot could be worth 3 points to her campaign: +1% from moderates voting for her and another 2% from him suppressing or downright depressing Trump voters. (semi) seriously
