When will J.League decide and announce who can actually move into J2? I want Nagasaki and Yamaguchi to go up!! Too bad for Matsumoto and Nagano, I would have loved an away game in the mountains in 4 or 5 years from now... Does Takayama have a team?
Honda Lock 2-1 Kariyushi (Great. Just great. More red shite to worry about... Thanks for a grupo de la muerte) Hitachi Uva 0-1 Nagasaki Shizuoka 0-6 Morioka Machida 1-1 (PK 6-5) Yazaki (Yes!) So the final group is decided as follows: Winner A Group: Honda Lock Winner B Group: V.Varen Nagasaki Winner C Group: Renofa Yamaguchi Winner D Group: Machida Zelvia Fixtures (All at Soccer Park Akanma, Ishigaki, Okinawa - no audience unless they make everyone stand up. Oh well.) November 28 Honda Lock vs. Nagasaki - 11 AM Yamaguchi vs. Machida - 1:15 PM November 29 Honda Lock vs. Yamaguchi - 11 AM Nagasaki vs. Machida - 1:15 PM November 30 Honda Lock vs. Machida - 10 AM Nagasaki vs. Yamaguchi - 12:15 PM
After next week all JFL and promotion matches are over so J. League should be making announcement within December. I can see no team from Takayama on the Tokai League, so they must be down in the Gifu Prefectural league, but clubs have so many names that there is no clue to their origins. Either way Takayama is considered to be out of the way for the prefecture.

Sorry, I am confused... JFL can now "lose" up to six teams, correct? Three to J2, plus there are the bottom 2.5... So: 1 - Some of the JFL's bottom teams MIGHT stay in JFL if all three associated top team go up...? 2 - Basically the Top 4 from the regional leagues play, but they're not sure they'll go up to JFL (at least, not some of them) ? 3 - Will Regional team go under financial scrutiny before being allowed to join JFL...? Ok, ok. Sorry for the gazilion of questions, but you must admit this IS a bit complicated. Always Thank You!! PS = Oh, by the way, how did Shiko Club Kyoto do? It used to be my son's team for one season, when he was 7... back in the day (2004-05), there were 4 players in Kyoto Sanga coming from Shiko. None survived till today...
In 2007 FC Ryukyu and Arte Takasaki finished 17th and 18th but they survived relegation to regional league thanks to Rosso Kumamoto and FC Gifu's promotion to J. League. If 3 associate members (Toyama, Tochigi, and Okayama/Tottori) join J2 next season....... JFL - No automatic relegation and no promotion/relegation play-off this year Regional leagues - The regional leagues play-off series 1st, 2nd and 3rd team will get automatic promotion to JFL.
Actually, we kind have to wait and see if J. League will allow three clubs to move up this year. I am not sure if there was a limit on how many clubs can go up in one year. Hopefully, they will allow three though.
Regional Leagues Play-off - Final Round (macthday 1) Honda Lock SC 0-5 V Varen Nagasaki Renofa Yamaguchi 0-2 FC Machida Zelvia ---------------------------------------- 1. V Varen Nagasaki (3 points/+5) - Promotion to JFL 2. FC Machida Zelvia (3 points/+2) - Promotion to JFL 3. Renofa Yamaguchi (0 points/-2) - Play-off with bottom JFL team * 4. Honda Lock SC (0 points/-5) * If 3 J. League associate members in JFL join J2 next season, the 3rd team also gets automatic promotion to JFL.
Wow, Nagasaki look good. Are they expected to apply for J.League membership (or they already have...)? If I am not wrong, they already have some pro-players. I am disappointed in Arte Takasaki probably staying in JFL. Judging by the scores of the last two seasons, they're probably the worst Japanese club. Former Sanga's Tomita played for Arte last season, does anybody remember him? He was in the Emperor's Cup 2002 team... Him and Kurobe are two great mysteries of soccer... But the latter managed somehow to stay among the pros, even if with debatable results.
Honda Lock 2-0 Yamaguchi Nagasaki 0-0 (PK 3-5) Machida (Machida go top) Machida 5, Nagasaki 4, Honda Lock 3, Yamaguchi 0. Tomorrow: Nagasaki must beat Yamaguchi (Honda Lock must lose to Machida in the process) to take first place. Yamaguchi must beat Nagasaki by at least two goals to advance to third place. Otherwise, we got more red Honda shite to worry about at the top.
Actually, Mizushima can no longer pass them going into tonight's final week, so unless they collapse we have more Altrincham... er, Arte for the time to come.
Machida 2-1 Honda Lock - MACHIDA IS GOING UP!!!! Yamaguchi must now desperately beat Nagasaki to ensure that the Red Shite from Kyushu do not have a chance!!!
You're kidding right? It's kind of a dump... and it's like the Japanese version of Wyoming... Plus you have to do JCI there and it sucks.
Yamaguchi, Tsuwano, Hagi... those mountains in between... I don't know what to say, I really like hat area. I am a city-dweller, but as I age, I begin to long for the countryside Kyoto is still overall a very good compromise.
I really only travelled up and down the sanyo line and expressway... but I never liked that part of the country, never felt right 'til I got through the mountains and down to Shimonoseki. Kyoto is a nice place if you can deal with the crazy bus drivers I think I nearly lost an arm in the door the last time I was a tourist. Plus the shinkansen is very nice and placed well (or at least it was if you're a tourist.)
Nagasaki 1-0 Yamaguchi - NAGASAKI GOES UP!!! PAINT THE JFL BLUE!!! Which leaves Yamaguchi in last place and with no hope unless there's another merger in the JFL. Toyama drew Okayama 1-1 and Tottori lost 2-0 to RKU, so OKAYAMA ALSO QUALIFIES TO GO UP!!!
Thus, in conclusion... Promoted to J2 (pending J.League's final approval): SC Tochigi Fagiano Okayama Kataller Toyama Promoted to JFL: Machida Nagasaki Honda Lock (might have to play irekae-game) If J.League doesn't approve any of the three promoted teams, relegated to the Regional Leagues will be (in order): Mitsubishi Mizushima Arte Takasaki FC Ryukyu (after irekae-game) ...correct?
The order is Tochigi, Toyama, Okayama. If they don't approve Okayama, then Honda Lock plays the irekae-sen against Mizushima.
THANKS!! What are the percentages for the three JFL ==>J2 teams to get approved? Is there a history of teams not being accepted?
Until 2006, as you know, only the top two qualified. Only Yokohama in 1999 was denied promotion and the spot was given instead to Mito. The 3rd and 4th spot qualification was granted because the Red Shite they call Honda was getting too much in the way. Tokushima, still part of Otsuka, won in 2003 and 2004 but was only promoted the following year. In 2006 the top two places were taken by Honda and Sagawa-Tokyo, which was the last straw. With the increase in promotion places, there's bound to be hesitation on the part of J. League to admit the clubs, but Tochigi and Okayama have worked so hard to get where they're at, I can't imagine the J. League not recognizing their talent and fanbase (which in the case of Honda is nonexistent).
