It talks about a man stuck underneath a married woman's balcony whom he is in love with declaring his love for her even though she is married and is sleeping by her husband. Nicolardi, at 25 years of age fell in love with Anna Rossi who wasn't allowed to marry him because her parents forbade it and she instead married Pompeo Corbara, a 75 year old accountant.
