Sampdoria and Chievo both turned down their Intertoto invitations right away, while Lecce took their time responding, and I think the Italian federation simply missed the deadline to apply. The reason teams turn it down small clubs like Lecce need to focus all their energies simply to survive in Serie A. Twice in the past (including Perugia last year), a Serie A team whose season began in the Intertoto went on to be relegated. Therefore, it's not a very popular competition in Italy. Even though Perugia also went a few rounds in the UEFA Cup, it was not worth the cost of being relegated.

    you are right , ,
    Perugia was reglated . .
maybe because of long season . .

villareal did a great one when they got through the way till the local derby at the semi-final !!! . .

if, , , if , , and only if Perugia beat Siena at that dramatic game , they might be at serie a . .
that game ended 2-1 in one minute !! reminded me the 2000 euro :(
