I have introduced something like that within my own database and i want to present it here. Maybe you can contribute by telling me your method I start with some examples: WC_2014_64F_BRA-GER = 2014 World Cup, Final, Match 64, Germany v Argentina ECQ_2016_gD-30_POL-IRL = 2016 Euro Qualifier, Group D, Match 30, Poland v Ireland WCQ_2016_euA-28_CRO-BEL = 2014 World Cup Qualifier, Group A, Match 28, Croatia v Belgium My system is not perfect. There is a problem with Confederation Qualifiers others than in Europe, which have several rounds, like CAF. My nomenclature uses af3gB-05 for this scenario. also the playoffs are named complicated like WC_2014_ccfoz-PO1_NZL-MEX. Who else is using a nomenclature?
