And as someone who has spent most of my career “negotiating deals” on behalf of various Fortune 500 companies….the one thing that maximizes the chances of you reaching a successful deal is to make sure the other party is clear that you have zero interest in negotiating in good faith.
This was obviously a joke. I know the only instance where this is a successful strategy is when you’re a Republican and you’re negotiating with democratic politicians.
You can only push a crazy person so much before they snap. How will Iran respond. 1933556121618288865 is not a valid tweet id
There still remains the question of "How would Iran like to respond" vs "How capable is Iran of responding in a significant way". That question is still largely uncertain. I mean yes, Iran might have a crazy leader, but I can think of a couple crazy ass mofos on this forum, but since they don't have an elite military, their only means of fighting back are their little typing fingers.
Looks like SAM battery site in Tel Aviv has been struck. There will definitely be some damage in days to come.
What are we talking here if when we are discussing "drawing America into the war"? Active participation in a land war? I can't see how much of an appetite they'd have for that. Even if Trump abandoned the Peace President shtick, we are talking about a country nearly three times the size of Iraq, with double the population. And Iraq was such a swell experience for them.
OK.. I'm beginning to doubt the survival instinct of Israelis... There's way too many people standing out in the middle of the street in Tel Aviv during a ballistic missile attack... https://bsky.app/profile/maks23.bsky.social/post/3lrj2w7awn22y
They are emboldened by the prior air defense capabilities and are generally way too used to missile attacks. Call it overconfidence.
You’re also talking about a country that likely isn’t stupid enough to sit idly by and hope we back down for 6 months while we build up overwhelming forces in theater so we can attack at the time and place of our choosing. Twice.
Iran launches ballistic missiles at Israel, as Supreme Leader vows to 'inflict heavy blows' - live updates - BBC News so, all hell is breaking loose? inevitable war has arrived?
Significant damage won't stop them from getting a nuke, only regime change could achieve this at this point which seems to be the Israeli objective. Looking at the track record on regime change in recent history, hard to be optimistic. Should the regime hold on to power, they are likely to acquire it. Nothing yet
I must say that the White House claiming that negotiations were a ruse to get Iran to drop its guard means that America’s credibility as a negotiating party is null and void. This was a disastrous communication strategy from Trump. Who will negotiate anything with the US now?
He has just said the following sentence: "We support the security of Israel, and if Israel were to be attacked, France would participate in Israel’s defense operations if it is in a position to do so". The last half-decent president we had -Jacques Chirac- would have allegedly told Netanyahu to go ******** himself, had he been president now. Macron is just a puppet.
During Trump's first term everyone said World War III would be a thing. Trump actually campaigned on that...and here we are.
