Russia saved Assad in 2015 and did absolutely nothing when Assad got steamrolled by al-Julani’s forces. Wanna know why they did nothing? Because almost all of their military is in Ukraine or supporting their invasion of Ukraine. All of Russia’s military-industrial complex is busy making weapons and ammunition to attack Ukraine. As are all of their air defenses and cruise missiles. Russia’s ammo and weapon shortages are so severe that they are buying them back from countries (including Iran). Russia has little to nothing they can provide Iran on the weapons and ammunition front. Not yet. China has a green water navy, meaning they can only operate in, or near the China Seas. China also has shown zero interest in using their military power. They don’t need to. They have a crapton of money that they use to keep countries on their side.
This bolded part...100%. The idea that China would get involved in this, besides the usual condemnations, is fanciful.
So either Bibi played Trump or the Trump admin's outward commitment to continued nuclear talks with Iran was all an elaborate kayfabe whilst they knew about Israel's intentions to carry out this operation all along. Is there another option?
Just reading some alleged details of this operation. An Israeli official revealed that the Mossad secretly established a drone base inside Iran specifically for this mission. The drones launched from this site struck missile launchers near Tehran, effectively neutralizing Iran’s ability to retaliate with projectiles as Israel’s airstrikes commenced. In parallel, weapons systems were smuggled into Iran using disguised vehicles. These systems dismantled Iranian air defenses, allowing Israeli aircraft to operate freely in Iranian airspace. A third element of the operation involved Mossad commandos deploying precision-guided missiles near anti-aircraft batteries in central Iran, further crippling Tehran’s aerial defenses. If Israel indeed did this all on their own, then it's on them to defend themselves and not get anyone else involved.
If Israel is able to do significant damage to the Iranian nuclear weapon program, that's a good thing, no?
Multiple countries including the US, UK, Qatar, Jordan etc are involved in defending Israel from Iranian counterattack.
Trump and his goons can’t be bothered to get their stories straight. “President Donald Trump acknowledged in a social media post that he gave Israel the go-ahead to attack Iran, going against claims from his own administration officials.” Israel deployed 200 fighter jets to targetIran's nuclear programs and kill multiple top military leaders, and the president's 5:56 a.m. EST post on Truth Social – "I told them, in the strongest of words, to 'just do it'" – Making a lier out of Lil’ Marco. “contradicted secretary of state Marco Rubio's statement from just hours before saying the strike was a "unilateral action." going against claims from his own administration officials.”
Well like I said, the only two remaining scenarios were that Bibi had played Trump for a fool or the Trump admin's continued negotiations with Iran had been kayfabe whilst they knew very well this operation was coming. I'm not sure which of the two is more likely, but the latter scenario is the one in which Trump looks less bad so that's obviously the one he will go with publicly.
Sorry but this is a twist of words. "I told them, in the strongest of words, to "just do it" is referring to him asking Iran to just to make a deal. This is the whole post. That doesn't mean he isn't lying, but this isn't what the post said.
Man looking of all the footage Israel did whatever they wanted in Iran. The famous Iranian AA "that is on paper with what Russia has" has let everything through. Jesus not one video of Iranian AA intercepting anything. @Iranian Monitor maybe now we can see the dreaded Iranian carrier in action Another paper tiger exposed. Honestly even if I dislike Israel I so like to see a Russian ally whose weapons caused so much civilian death in Ukraine get effed in the face.
On the one hand,it's pretty incredible what this operation seems to have accomplished. In the other hand, I really hope this emboldens the Iranian people to overthrow their tyrannic regime. I want nothing more than to make peace with Iranian people.
Yep always have to separate the government from its people. Whether that’s Israel, Iran, Russia, etc, even the US
Yeah, but this new tactic of sneaking drones into a country (or building them on site) to take out expensive targets like strategic bombers and air defense sites must be causing some sleepless nights for a lot of military guys all over the world. Here in DC, both Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and Joint Base Andrews are in urban areas, with highways and various buildings almost up to their perimeter fences. Ukraine's and Israel's attacks are a proof of concept of how effective drones can be in that type of environment.
Israeli IAI Heron MALE reconnaissance UAV spotted in the sky over Tabriz in western Iran. pic.twitter.com/wjltvJQcYD— Status-6 (Military & Conflict News) (@Archer83Able) June 13, 2025 This stuff is embarrassing That is an Iranian Airforce base so not a random place in Iran where it would be explainable What is the Russian word for irony? “Unprovoked military strikes on a sovereign UN member state, its citizens, sleeping peaceful cities, and nuclear energy infrastructure facilities are categorically unacceptable. The international community cannot afford to be indifferent to such atrocities that destroy peace and damage regional and international security.“
Trump just can't help himself. He's making the Israeli attack about himself. Even more so because it was quite successful. He's taking part responsibility for it. If it had gone bad, he'd be distancing himself so fast.
It is unfortunately a naive vision of things, particularly when these governments are the result of free elections.
It's like in the first few months of the Ukraine conflict when they fairly easily pushed Russia's initial attack back ... Trump called into Fox News and his criticism was that Biden and NATO wasn't going at Russia hard enough. He was taking credit for arming Ukraine up. The guy is a complete opportunist.
You almost sound new to politics. Politicians always frame things in a way that is most beneficial to them and their agenda. Biden and KJP were always trying to slant things in a way that was favorable to them. Nothing new.
