Bit surprised by this, it's the first time i've seen anything about Bergkamp in football rich list. I'd be interested to know what these investments are. Anyway footballer's take note, this is evidence that plastering your face all over the media endorsing any and every product going is not the only way to make your money.

how funny is it looking at 1. compared to 2.

    1. Roman Abramovich, 38, Chelsea -- £7.5billion (last year £5.5bn).

    2. Joseph Lewis, 67, Tottenham, Rangers - £1.8bn (£2.2bn).
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1. grew 2 bill in 1 year - High rollers club

    2. lost .4 bill in 1 year - Old folks home

when u first said bergkamp is loaded i though u were tlaking about somehting else

Well, i guess this staves off the possibilty of Bergkamp ever entering a managerial or coaching career. I mean would you?! I think it's far more likely that he'll decide to sit at home and count his money (a full time job in itself) than opening himself up to criticism and intrusion from less qualified individuals like myself if he decided to take up a career in management.

I find this really funny though. I'm sure we are all capable of judging a player's level of commitment during a game. Well frankly if I were worth £37 million and someone told me to go running round a field in the rain whilst professional athletes kicked lumps out of me, I would be inclined to request that they 'fvck right off!.' .....But i guess that's just me! :D

I'm not surprised by this. While I've never met him, Bergkamp just seems like an intelligent fellow so the fact that he would have amassed this much wealth partially through investments makes sense. He's a smart fellow and would probably be a decent coach if he ever decided that was something that interested him.

Any chance the DB could call me with some tips? I'm just oh about 37m behind him. I'll take the tips instead of his autograph. Sounds fair, right? :D

I think that Dennis would make a great manager; however his away absences would pose a problem.

Yes, I suppose that fear of flying could prove to be a hindrance to a coaching career. ;)

while i see your point totally.. you arent a professional footballer.. this is all he knows in the world! been his life, so hanging it up isn't something you look forward too.. boredom sets in and then you want to get back in the game. thats why you see so many try to get involved in the game any way possible..

I'd be playing golf everyday as well if it was me~

If I had the 37M I'd give it all up to have the talent that Bergkamp has, and I'd play every day that I could get out of bed!

Robbie Fowler is quite the businessman, he owns a heap of property all over the place. I believe he has a mansion in Dubai as well. He leases some of his properties to players coming into the country looking for homes.
