Breakthrough in the negotiations between 1. FC Köln and Palermo over a transfer of Kristoffer Lund.

The deal will be a loan with an option to buy. The 23 y/o left-back is expected to undergo his medical on Tuesday.

Understated review of Koln's match today against Jahn Regensburg, who came in last in the 2.Bundesliga last year. Kristoffer subbed on in the 69th, just after Jahn Regensburg took the lead. Goals in the 96th and 98th minute for Koln make for a "more awesome than S***" comeback, and a fun one for the celebrator-in-chief to celebrate. Competitive debut for Lund at Koln.

Kristoffer subbed off in the 68th minute in a solid enough debut. Bulter scores in the 90th minute to make it a winning Bundesliga debut for our guy and a winning return to the league for Koln.

He had a very nice long cross into the box that was nearly a goal. Looking pretty good and not out of place in the Bundesliga in these early days.

Koln's excellent start to the Bundesliga season continues with a 4-1 win over Freiburg. Lund with eight defensive contributions and a couple of long shots - sort of amazing to thing he wasn't a lock starter and Palermo and now Koln and he are doing this, but small sample size, I guess. Exciting August for Koln.

Koln have not lost - all comps and exhibitions - since APRIL.

After two straight losses in which Kristoffer did not start, he returns to the starting lineup today. Koln win over Hoffenheim 1-0, with Lund going 84 minutes. His passing stats were lousy, but he helped get the shutout from LWB in a 3-4-3.

Where did you get that from?

Koln equalized in the 76th minute.. Lund was subbed out in the 74th.

Yeah, he wasn’t involved in the game tying goal.

He got a Kicker 4.0 rating for his efforts, though. (1 good, 6 Bobby Wood).

Lund had a pretty rough day in the Derby against Gladbach. He caused two penalties (one for a foul, one for a hand ball). The first one was pretty soft, called by VAR. There was minimal contact with Honorat (Scally helped push Lund into Honorat) but Honorat made a meal out of it. In slow motion you can clearly see Honorat lift his legs and fall. He fell against the direction that Lund was moving, which means the contact alone wasn't even close to knocking him over...I don't understand VAR sometimes. The ensuing penalty was missed, but then BMG scored on the corner kick that followed.

The second one was probably a bit more of a penalty by the strict interpretation of the rules. There was some ball to hand contact and Lund's hand was away from his body. Again, the VAR called it. This penalty was converted directly, even though the goalie got a hand on it.

Immediately after the second goal BMG scored a third. Köln had the ball at midfield and gave it away cheaply, BMG had a slick counter attack and that was that. Bad thing for Lund was that he made the throw-in in that led to the give away, but it was clearly the recipient's mistake which led to the give away.

A black day for Lund. Kicker gave him a 5.0 for trouble (1.0 good, 6.0 bad). FotMob had Lund at a game lowest 5.5 (10 good, 1 bad).

What happened to our midfielders this weekend? Tessman, Adams and Lund really stunk it up.

He didn't start the last 2 games.. It's going to be a close call if Koln exercises its option to buy on the loan from Palermo.

Every indication is that Pochettino doesn't rate Lund. He knows about him and even had him in his first camp - but Lund hasn't brought him back since. He didn't even make the PRELIMINARY nations league roster of 60 people.

Jedi has been hurt all year, Lund has been healthy all year. If Pochettino wanted to call up Lund, he would have in November. Instead, we had Tolkin.

i think poch has the profile of wingback - 1 on 1 attacker mostly....not outside back who sits deep and picks a pass, like lund or maybe scally.....i think hes going with guys like dest, arfsten, weah, jedi, freeman there...all guys that can put pressure on teams in the final third. he isnt looking for defense from these guys.

lund just doesnt have the kind of profile that poch looks for (also why maybe scally hasnt seen much time as well) although im sure he recognizes his quality

I must say that I liked Tolkin more. More dynamic.
