I see that at, they soon will give the fans the chance to name the team.

I think we could help them out with a few suggestionswhen the time comes

Yes, I could think up a few choice new names for the club, but, of all the people/entities I would like to heap scorn and abuse on at this time, the people and city of Houston are pretty far down the list.

Agreed... There is lots of blame to go around, but it would be rather unfair to scoop the people & soon to be fans of Houston into the mix.

Gotta be Rustlers, especially with those daft cowboy boots and Stetsons that were on display at the Houston press conference.

With a name like "Painful Rectal Itch," they'd have to be good.

    Double Standards FC

Then they could go by DSFC.

Then people would have the fun of replacing the D and S with whatever they'd like.

But then again, I'm not aiming to make fun of the team itself. As mentioned before, these are our boys in blue playing under this name...

The sensible, serious answer is Houston Hurricane. That was the old NASL team name, and hurricanes are the Houston equivalent of earthquakes as far as natural disasters go. Normally I'd prefer the plural, Hurricanes, but I'll opt for the historical reference value of the singular.
