I finally picked up an iPod, and it is the greatest invention since the computer itself. I just flew from Boston to Cali last week, and couldn't believe I could essentially take my entire CD collection with me. It's a must buy for music lovers.

My question though, for anyone who could possibly help: do I have to sync up every time, or is there a way to just transfer new songs on to the iPod?

Yep. You can turn off auto-synching and manually drag your mp3s onto the iPod icon. And I'm sure there's an easier way.

Thanks. I had turned off auto-sync, but still couldn't figure it out. I'm off to try it out.

Actually if you use iTunes you just plug in your iPod (turn off auto syncing first) and you'll see a little iPod "playlist" to the left (where you keep your playlists). Just drag the song from your iTunes list the the iPod "playlist" and that's it.
