http://www.stonebrew.com/cool/articles/pr/monolith/index.html Yeah, check out the date at the top of the release. I know it's bit old for this, but I thought it was a good 'un. For what it's worth Stone does make good brew.
I'm not a big fan of high-alcohol beer but that never stops me from trying them. If I come across this one I'll be sure to give it a go.
Only a month old, it's still acceptable up to 110 days. I don't get why it wouldn't be about the taste though. If I just wanted to get blitzed quicky, I'd find shots of some 100 proof.
They make the damned tasty, high alcohol Arrogant Bastard Ale. Only seen it in 20 oz. bottles, except at the holidays when they have it in 3 Qt., 5.4 Fl. Oz. giant size. The giant bottle has lots of funny literature on it, too. You can apparently bring this bottle in for a refill at the brewery if you adhere to certain rules, including: "Your bottle is properly cleaned and ready to go (slob != arrogance)" and "you are not a fizzy yellow beer drinker masquerading as someone with taste." At Spartan Stadium, my favorite is Prohibition Ale from Speakeasy Brewery in San Francisco.
No matter how many microbreweries I visit or how many different beers I try, I can't find anything to match a simple Newcastle.
Storm King Stout from Victory Brewing in Downingtown, PA is the best I've ever had. It's not the easiest to find, though.
We were just joking at the last game about how Sierra has become sort of like the "new Budweiser" out here. You see more people buying that stuff at games, the store or restaurants than pretty much anything else (perhaps other than Bud or Coors Light). It is really good stuff, especially to drink a lot of. Some of the aforementioned brews in this thread are ones you probably shouldn't mess around with drinking too much of.
