Al-Hilal has managed to hold on. FT: 1-0. I think every Hilali player got booked today lol, including Yasser and Al-Deayea.
Yeah that was a proper cup derby something that's been lacking in the last few Riyadh derbies, mabrook shabab now lets knock out those Fiesty Shababies
Looking at the match stats after the game from Saudi Sport: Al-Nasr Al-Hilal 14 fouls 13 fouls 3 yellows 4 yellows 1 Red And Hilal got two yellows from time wasting tactics (Ie, Yasser standing on the ball and Khathran delaying a throw in) so if Mershedi wasn't sent off I doubt the ref would be under scrutiny. Also, if that Elton free kick went in it would be contender for top free kick of the season.
I'm just saying there were a lot more cards than normal for a Saudi league game. The papers ran a story before the match about this ref being very card-happy. The ref is going to be under scrutiny because it looks like he missed a handball in the area by Khalid Aziz. Anyway, regardless of whether Marshadi's card was right or not, it ruined what could have been a much better match. Did anyone notice how much better Hilal plays when Tarek El-Tayeb is on the field? He really is the brains of the team.
MOst likely Saudi Sport thought Mershedi's second yellow was a straight red. He did get a second yellow right?
It was a second yellow, yes. The ref ruined the match for me. He hurt Hilal in the first half, and he hurt Nasr in the second half. I don't know about Marshadi's two cards; I have to watch the game again. I hope my worst nightmare doesn't come true: Exit 17 taking Al-Marshadi's place against Al-Shabab in the final!
I do recall he also missed a handball by Abdo Burnawi but it seems to be he saw it but played on because it was unintened (ball bounced off Burnawi's head and on to his arm). Also, anyone know why Hossam Ghaly got into a fight with Osama Hawsawi at the final whistle?
Only Hossam Ghaly knows. Right after the ref blew the whistle, Ghaly went airborne on Hawsawi for some reason.
alll you can say is hilal nassr derby is just a one sided affair ...not as al ittihad and ahliy...any ways best of luck hilal in final match....perform the same in afc champions league. any news about violence outside staduim....olaya street was more of police rather than supporters,,,,
I am afraid that deayea won't be able to withstand al shamani like the (3-0) match. Shabab will win this one... I cheer for shabab!!
A huge banner that was unfurled for the first (and only) goal. I was surprised to see this because I thought they were banned:
shabab has won only two final match against hilal...others all hilal won..... it will be nice to see nasser al shamrani vs yasser al qahatani debate. ...as it was in the thread -----sultan:expect a new coach this week
