I can remember some anti-littering campaigns in the late sixties. My response at the time was that not littering is for sissies. My mind changed by the time I started fourth grade, however.
Miss Forsieth was my 4th grade teacher...one of my favorites. The principal on the other hand [both], Miss Kelleher, had large bony fingers that she used to whack miscreants with. I didn't like her very much especially when I blurted out loudly in class..."potatoes are manufactured in Idaho"
So in the prior page I posted good news from Vietnam, here are some bad news from Greece. Wind mills will ruin my mountain hike. https://www.economist.com/europe/2020/01/30/why-many-greek-greens-oppose-wind-power
Those campaigns were all paid for by the polluters to shift the blame onto YOU for minor littering and away from them for changing to producing so much more un-reusable/non-biodegradable litter for higher profits. So the pre-fourth-grade you was on the right track to believe it wasn't your fault Just hadn't been hardened enough to realize it was the corporations' fault yet

Not sure what the twitter rules really are in this thread, but here, this contains better info faster than I'd be able to type it on my own The staffer who carried a snowball to the Senate floor so Jim Inhofe could mock climate change is now in line to become EPA's next chief of staff. We have a higher class of poster in this thread so you should be safe enough posting an MSM news source
as one who sees some tweets as so de-contextualized as being nothing more than a link dump with a picture... this is good. You get the idea of what it's about.
Conservatives are going to be really mad about this astro-turfed kid Meet the anti-Greta, a young YouTuber campaigning against "climate alarmism" https://t.co/R03zXGx6jr— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) February 24, 2020
I am sure a certain posters will come in asking just who is finding her and why she is being pushed by some media. I will not hold my breath.
Considering the article states exactly who is behind her, it's not really a mystery, is it? Could you still hold your breath? Just for 5-10 minutes
The trouble with Cobalt. This is a pretty good video on the topic of Battery chemistry and the sourcing of materials to produce current energy storage. Cuts through a lot of misinformation on this topic.
I love how conservatives debate even human-driven climate change like it's a bunch of Black folks trying to get out from under conservative jackboots. Probably calling it "Equal Time". I'm waiting for them to bring out the toddler who grew big and strong on a diet of lead paint chips and Pasta Asbestosa (sp?)
Everyone knows that windmills cause cancer and send pollution to the stratosphere. And solar panels will deplete the sun.
It's twue...it's twue! Solar Farm Rejected Over Fears It Could Drain The Sun ... www.iflscience.com › environment › solar-farm-rejected-over-fears-it... TRUMP during NRCC speech: "If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value. And they say the noise causes cancer. You tell me that one, okay? Rerrrr rerrrr!"
I can imagine a child wanting to do something to save the world, if she thinks the world is at risk, and parents/friends/similarly concerned people wanting to help her do what she wants to do. Kinda like how a really talented young trumpet player gets a better horn from a sponsor, a few gigs with major players and some publicity in the media. What I have trouble grasping is why a child who doesn't think the world is at risk would decide to spend her time bashing ideas that will not put the world at risk. That's the middle and high school version of the mean girl, really, and they get their personalities in the home, not at school.
Isn't this the same teenager that gave passive-aggressive* comments on the terror attack on a synagogue in Halle, Germany? *Let's face it, it was anti-Semitic. EDIT - Seibt also referred to the Canadian alt-right internet activist Stefan Molyneux as an “inspiration”. I know I saw the YouTube clip of Naomi Seibt poo-pooing the synagogue attack but can't seem to find the clip. Maybe it was taken down. But I did find the reference here (https://www.theguardian.com/environ...-greta-activist-white-nationalist-inspiration) among other crap she's pulled.
